Back in the fall of 2019 (what seems a lifetime ago, now), on a media trip to Yakima, Washington, we were introduced to the brand-new Cosmic Crisp® apple. Over two decades, Washington State University developed the new variety, a cross between Enterprise and Honeycrisp, and one of the interesting characteristics … Continue reading
One day left! I’m sure many of us are counting the hours at this point. To help you get through the day, here’s news in the Oregon beer world for Tuesday, January 19. I’ll be updating this post occasionally throughout the afternoon with the latest news as I find it, … Continue reading
2 Towns Ciderhouse is on a roll this year, and that’s only a little bit pun intended (see first review). The Corvallis, Oregon cider maker has rolled out several new ciders in 2020, not to mention picking up Nectar Creek Mead and partnering on a canned wine. I’ve got a … Continue reading
Bold Leaf Wine is a collaboration between 2 Towns Ciderhouse and Stoller Wine to bring casual, everyday wine to drinkers in cans. The venture offers three varieties currently: Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Bubbly Rosé. The website offers up a succinct bit of background: Nestled into opposite ends of the … Continue reading
2 Towns Ciderhouse has introduced a new year-round imperial cider to the lineup, and sent me a couple of bottles: Tropical Mayhem. It’s a 9% cider made from apples, passion fruit, and pineapple, and seems like welcome addition to fall. The cidery also included two bottles of its returning Hollow … Continue reading
One of the better bits of beer-adjacent news to come out of 2020 so far is the revival of Nectar Creak Mead by 2 Towns Ciderhouse in Corvallis. You might recall that the Philomath-based meadery closed its doors in October of last year, illustrative of the struggles of making an … Continue reading
A big package from 2 Towns Ciderhouse arrived at the doorstep this week, containing not only the latest seasonal cider from the Corvallis cidery, but also wine and mead. Wine and mead? Yes—2 Towns recently partnered with Stoller Wine to release a canned wine collaboration with Bold Leaf Wine. And … Continue reading
2 Towns Ciderhouse in Corvallis recently received approval to start producing hand sanitizer for the COVID-19 crisis, and began large-scale production at the end of April. The cidery joins the growing list of others pivoting into manufacturing sanitizer, a crucial necessity especially for health and other front line workers during … Continue reading
2 Towns Ciderhouse in Corvallis has spearheaded a (mostly) local delivery service that not only includes its own cider and hard seltzer products, but has partnered with a number of other Willamette Valley businesses (or craft suppliers, as the email read) as part of that service. Not only does it help out other businesses struggling during this time but also helps to bring “a taste of normalcy” to people staying at home and safe.
Serious times call for serious ciders (or beers, or whatever you’re drinking) and that’s a goofy intro to segue right into Serious Scrump Imperial English Cider from 2 Towns Ciderhouse. 2 Towns had sent me two bottles of Scrump to review. This 11% imperial cider is made by first concentrating … Continue reading
