The brewery calls it a dry porter and this is an accurate label.
Appearance: Dark brown with a light brown creamy head; I look at it and think cola (or root beer).
Smell: Coffee and roasted grains; I’m thinking of coffee beans as the primary component.
Taste: Dry, roasted coffee and a touch of burnt toast. A hint of chocolate, and some subtle charcoal notes.
Mouthfeel: Lightly-medium-bodied—a bit thin but acceptable for a porter—and finishes pleasantly dry.
Overall: Tasty and drinkable, I like that it’s dry but not overly dry, like some interpretations that I’ve had (that are overdone).
