Press Release: Karl Strauss Honors 21st Anniversary with Beer Dinner Supporting Chef Celebration Scholarship Fund

In honor of its 21st Anniversary, Karl Strauss Brewing Company is hosting a Chef Celebration Beer Dinner. The event will feature six locally renowned chefs preparing five unique dishes paired with five different Karl Strauss beers. The beer dinner takes place at Karl Strauss Brewing Company, Sorrento Mesa at 6pm on Tuesday May 18, 2010.

“We are very excited to host this Chef Celebration Dinner,” says Gunther Emathinger, Karl Strauss Executive Chef. “We have a very talented line-up of chefs and each course pairs beautifully with the beer. It’s great to see the creativity of this group.” The dinner starts off with an amuse bouche and continues on to four more delectable courses. The finale is a dessert made with and paired with the Karl Strauss 21st Anniversary Ale, a Belgian Strong Ale brewed with the juice from Old Vine Zinfandel grapes.

Chef Celebration is a partnership of more than 50 award-winning local chefs who donate their time and skills to raise funds for the nonprofit culinary scholarship program. Over the past twelve years, Chef Celebration has awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships to local chefs, helping to lay the foundation of culinary excellence in San Diego.

The five-course dinner and beer pairing is $65 donation per person, with $35 going towards the nonprofit Chef Celebration scholarship fund. To make a reservation, call Kristina at (858) 581-7325.
