The Pine Tavern PT82 Beerfest Invitational returns October 21

Pine Tavern PT82 Beerfest

For the last couple of years, Bend’s iconic Pine Tavern restaurant has been holding their “PT8x” Beerfest Invitationals—showcases for Central Oregon’s breweries to pour their best beers in a friendly competition for which the winner would be the PT tap for a year. It started two years ago with the PT80 for the restaurant’s 80th year in business, and this year the 3rd annual edition returns on Saturday, October 21 for the PT82 Beerfest Invitational.

The first two years I participated as a judge to select the best beer, while the People’s Choice was the runner up. This year, the competition is all People’s Choice, and the theme is, well, anything goes—open style. (Year one was IPA, and last year was pale ale.)

Central Oregon’s best breweries will compete to be our next signature beer and you are a Judge!
The Pine Tavern Restaurant and Bar will host the 3rd annual PT82 Beerfest Invitational on October 21 at 4pm.

18 Central Oregon breweries will be competing to be our next signature “PT82” Beer. The aim of the competition is to select a winning beer and brewery and celebrate the craft beer industry in Bend!

  • Must be 21 and over. No pets please.
  • Price is $20 which includes a Pine Tavern Pint glass and 8 tasting tokens.
  • Proceeds of the event will benefit Kids Center.

This is a great showcase of the regional breweries and a fantastic fundraiser to boot. I’ll be looking forward to seeing what each brewery brings to pour, keeping in mind that the winning beer gets to dominate the coveted PT tap for the next year.

If you get the chance to come check this out, don’t miss it! It’s a fun night and a great setting on the patio overlooking Mirror Pond. Come out and enjoy some of the best beer the region has to offer!
