Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Today is their Red Chair Holiday Celebration at their Bend Pub, celebrating the release of Red Chair NWPA: “Deck the halls with pints of Red Chair NWPA, holiday cookies, and a hoppy Santa Claus! Belmont Station (Portland) today has got “The Dark Side of Baelic [Brewing]” from 5 to 7pm: “Does a Baerlic in a Galaxy Far, Far Away? Of course! And we will turn to Baerlic’s Dark Side this Monday when they release — for the first time outside their brewery — bottles of the newest beer in their WoodWorker barrel-aged bottle series, Woodworker Iniquitous Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout. This Kentucky Bourbon barrel-aged version of Baerlic’s Iniquitous Imperial Stout is an amped-up version of the brewery’s year-round Noble Oatmeal Stout.”
The Pink Boots Society is hosting a charity night tonight at the Oregon Public House in Portland: “A percentage of proceeds all day go towards Pink Boots Society, so spread the word!! Filmmaker Jill Murphy Long will be there doing some preliminary filming for a movie she’s creating on female brewers and women in the beer industry.”
Ecliptic Brewing (Portland): They will be releasing the seasonal Phobos Single Hop Red Ale next week, on December 21. From the press release: “Hopped entirely with citrusy, tropical Azacca hops, Phobos is named after the Martian moon that circles the Red Planet. Eight types of malts were used to give this beer a deep caramel flavor and rich red color that would make Old Man Mars proud. Phobos finishes creamy and smooth.” Look for it in bottles.
