There will be plenty of vintage beers on tap and bottles for sale.

Accordingly, tonight’s Tap It Tuesday anniversary kickoff will feature a special, limited blend: “An anniversary Tap It Tuesday live barrel tapping will take place at the Barrel House on Dec. 6 at 6pm, at which the brewery will release the 2015 blend of its rare Pater project. Released once every two to three years, Pater is a cuvée of sour reds, imperial reds, blonds, triples and quads aged up to three years with Bing and sour pie cherries; it features some of the oldest and rarest barrels from Cascade’s sour cellar.”

Featuring brown and dark wheat malts from the US, England and Germany, this is a special beer for a special time of year. Based on a recipe from Vanguard’s assistant brewer (that’s him on the right), this American strong ale was made with a hefty grain bill to create a malt forward, copper colored beer with undertones of toasty caramel, toffee and dark fruit flavors. Locally grown Cascade and Willamette hops were used to balance out the malt sweetness. Finally, toasted unsweetened coconut flakes were added during fermentation to fill out the flavor profile of this winter warmer. It’s on tap now.”

Tumalo Cider Company (Bend/Tumalo): This new cidery on the block announced their winter seasonal cider: “Our winter seasonal is here! Introducing “Alpenglow”. Cranberry and cardamon make this new cider perfect for winter. Come out to the Central Oregon Brewfest 2016 @goodlifebrewing December 10th to try it!”
