Oregon Beer: Fort George BreweryHappy Hump Day! Here’s the Oregon beer news for this Wednesday, December 12 to help get you over the hump this week. As usual I’ll be updating this post throughout the day, so check back in occasionally for the latest news.

Fort George Brewery (Astoria) releases the first in its Waves of Silence beers today, Codename: Allision: “Waves of Silence Codename: Allision lands at the brewery this Wednesday (12/12) and around the Pacific Northwest soon after. Each batch of this 9% ABV Imperial Stout is a unique experience. Expect a new wave about once a month, during the darker seasons.” Allision is 8.27% ABV and brewed with whole Medjool dates, date sugar, and brown sugar.

The Bier Stein (Eugene) is Tapping Into Community today to benefit Planned Parenthood: “On Wednesday, December 12th we will be tapping a keg of Hopped Raspberry Cider from Eugene’s very own Cyderish in support of Planned Parenthood. 100% of proceeds from the keg will be donated.” The benefit takes place from 5 to 8pm.

Oakshire Brewing (Eugene) released a milkshake IPA—without the milk (lactose): “Rainbow Sherbet Smoothie IPA: raspberry, pineapple, and blood orange purées with organic vanilla beans, and Mosaic, Hallertau Blanc, Moutere, Galaxy, and Citra hops. No lactose, stuffed with fluffy oats, and dry-hopped. This is your childhood in a glass (you know, minus the 6% ABV.)” So… a sherbet IPA.

Hopworks Urban Brewery (Portland): Today is the latest in the brewery’s holiday beer release parties, which kicks off at 5pm. Today’s beer is Barrel-Aged Morning Vibes: “A whiskey-soaked version of our Win-Win series beer, Morning Vibes. Originally released in Feb 2018, Morning Vibes is a collaboration with Nossa Familia (a fellow B Corp), using their organic coffee. We added cocoa and lactose to make a rich, silky beer which was then aged for 8 months in variety of bourbon barrels. This Barrel-aged Imperial Stout, will warm your soul like the first sweet sips of a spiked latte. Available only on tap.”

Vagabond Brewing (Salem) has a new beer out: “Pale to the King, Baby! (Do you get the reference?) This is the Pale Ale that we collaborated with Tokyo Aleworks on, and it turned out wonderfully! We went back to basics, and created a crushable Pale with C hops. Columbus, Chinook, and Citra were used in the kettle, then we dry-hopped it with Cascade and Centennial. This beer has a big floral nose with citrus undertones, and just enough malt backbone.”

Caves Bier & Kitchen (Corvallis) welcomes Sunriver Brewing tonight for its monthly tasting event: “Join us for our monthly tasting series welcoming Sunriver Brewing from Bend. A representative will be in house with us giving away swag and to talk all things Sunriver Brewing. We’ll have some of their awesome beers on tap paired up with small plates from our kitchen.” The event runs from 5 to 7pm.

Ruse Brewing (Portland) has a new beer dropping today: “Chase The Sky goes on tap today at 3. Heaps of Citra and El Dorado sing a chorus of candied Valencia orange, stinky pineapple skin and delicate mango.”
