Oregon Beer, BridgePort BrewingHere is the news in Oregon beer for this Thursday, December 7. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated also.

BridgePort Brewing (Portland): Their 9th annual Ebenezer Ale Pub Crawl takes place tonight from 5 to 10pm in Multnomah Village! Ebenezer Ale is BridgePort’s longstanding holiday Winter Warmer, and will be on tap at each stop. “Stops along the way include John’s Marketplace, Journey’s, O’Connor’s, The Ship, and Renner’s. Guests who complete their full Ebenezer passport will qualify for various prizes. The crawl is free and guests can pay as they go.” Make sure to get that passport filled out!

McMenamins 23rd Avenue Bottle Shop (Portland) is welcoming Sunriver Brewing for a Sunriver Pop-Up tonight from 6 to 8pm: “Sunriver Brewing Company won Small Brewery of the Year at this year’s Great American Beer Festival! We’re tapping their Double Dank IIPA, Mele Kalikimaka IIPA, Azacca Haze IPA and the 2016 Motorhead Black Barleywine.” Great chance to sample some excellent beers—I had a small taste of Mele Kalikimaka and it’s a fun holiday IPA.

The Bier Stein (Eugene) is hosting a beer tasting with the Duvel Moortgat Brand Family tonight from 5 to 8pm: “Taste the Belgian and American sides of Duvel Moortgat, the private, family owned company that owns Brasserie d’Achouffe, Ommegang, and Boulevard among others. We’ll tap up 7 beers from their portfolio, and have a glassware giveaway for the first folks to buy the beer.”

Belmont Station is hosting an Epic Night of the Baptists tonight from 5 to 8pm: “Oh Holy Night! This promises to be one of the best nights of the year for imperial stout fans. Bottles of all Epic Baptists (Big, Bad Baptist, Triple Barrel & Big, Bad Baptista) will be on sale in the bottle shop, and we will be pouring all three in the biercafe as well.”

Imperial Bottle Shop (Portland): Their winter coat drive continues today: “For homeless youth, the holidays and winter can be difficult times. In an effort to share in the magic of the holiday season with those less fortunate than us, Imperial has partnered with 8 local breweries to coordinate a week-long clothing drive that benefits New Avenues for Youth. Throughout the week of Dec 4 – Dec 8, if you donate an article of cold-weather clothing from 5-8PM, in return you will get to choose between receiving either an article of new brewery apparel or a $1 pint from either of that night’s 2 feature breweries.” Tonight Royale Brewing and Swift Cider are the features brewery and cidery.

Beer in Portland is hosting a Block 15 tap takeover today: “We’re stringing together 5 days of events to celebrate our 5 years! This is the first of the run with a full on, no holds barred, cage and ladder 10-tap takeover from Block 15! They’ll be bringing the usual favorites like Sticky Hands, Gloria, and some other standards as well as some great seasonal and special cellar releases! We’ll also have a special allotment of their seasonal release, Hoppy Holidays! One of our annual favorites from the crew in Corvallis!”

Portland’s Tin Bucket is hosting a Dam Wild Night featuring Flat Tail Brewing: “Flat Tail won a gold medal this year at GABF for their Dam Wild beer. It’s an evolving beer that always starts with the same base, adding different flavors for seasonal releases. They will be making a few special kegs for this event and its always a fun time when Flat Tail is in the house.”
