Oregon BeerHappy Monday! With Thanksgiving about a week and a half away who’s counting down until turkey and beer? Here’s the Oregon beer news for Monday the 18th of November.. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.

McMenamins (all locations): Their Terminator Stout is turning 28 tomorrow, Tuesday the 19th! This flagship beer was first brewed at the Hillsdale Brewery and has become one of McMenamins’ best-known beers. At all locations tomorrow there will be specials on Terminator along with Terminator food specials, and at the Bagdad Theater they will have a special beer release along with showing the first two “Terminator” movies. Make sure to stop by your local McMenamins tomorrow and enjoy a pint or two of Terminator!

Beerworks (Medford) is hosting a tasting tonight featuring Colorado’s Oskar Blues Brewery: “Oskar Blues will be here [tonight] at 6pm for a free can tasting! We will also have Deviant Dales & 10/50 for sale on tap during the event. Stop by enjoy some beers & meet the Oskar Blues Rep. We look forward to seeing you!” Oskar Blues is credited with being the first craft brewery to can their beer and Ten Fidy in particular is a great Imperial Stout, don’t miss out.

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Hop Henge is out now! This is Deschutes’ annual Imperial IPA (though these days they call it “Experimental IPA”) that gets tweaked every year to experiment with hops and push boundaries. Normally it appears in January so this is a particularly early release. This version is 9.3% abv and 99 IBUs and should satisfy the hopheads through the holidays.

If you’ve been curious about one of Bend’s newest breweries, Oblivion Brewing, but haven’t yet had the chance to try their beer, then visit the Mountain Jug in Sunriver this Wednesday the 20th from 5 to 8pm for a special tasting and meet the brewer with Darin Butschy.

Oakshire Brewing (Eugene): Tomorrow they are releasing the latest in their Brewer’s Reserve series, and it’s one you’re going to want to check out: “Tomorrow at 6pm we will be releasing Funk d’ Farmhouse. It’s our newest Brewer’s Reserve Release. We’ll have it on draft and 750ml Corked and Caged Bottles. The bottle limit will be 2. Come on out, meet our Lead Brewer Tyler West and try this limited release before it’s gone!”
