Oregon BeerHappy Friday the 13th! It’s been a long week and a long Friday coming, and I for one am looking forward to enjoy a beer (or several) later today. Here’s the Oregon beer news for the weekend; as usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often. And if you have news to share, please let me know and I can get that updated as well.

The McKenzie Cider and Craft Beer Festival kicks off today over in Springfield, from 5 to 11pm, and continues tomorrow, Saturday the 14th from noon to 11pm. This is the fourth annual year of the brewfest, with proceeds going to benefit “Bags of Love, a local agency that provides assistance to children in need ‘one bag of love at a time.'” Tickets cost $15 which you can purchase at the door, or in advance online here. The price covers your admission, souvenir glass, and two tasting tickets, with additional tasting tickets available for $1 each as per usual. And with over 70 breweries and cideries represented it’s going to be a good fest!

McMenamins Old Church (Wilsonville) is holding their 3rd Annual Boone’s Ferry Autumn Ale Fest Saturday the 14th all day long starting at 11am, with a terrific lineup of McMenamins and guest beers pouring. “We’re back with more than a dozen big, hearty beers that are perfect for the season. Vote for your favorites; Boone’s Best (a.k.a. the oar winner) will be decided by those at the fest! We’ll have McMenamins beers and beers brought to us by McMenamins’ alumni brewers from the breweries they now call home. Some of these brewers will be on hand to chat during the fest.” There will live music as well as a distillery tasting and a history talk—overall this looks like a fantastic fest and one you should not miss if you’re in the area.
