Oregon BeerHere’s the Oregon beer news for Tuesday, the 13th of November. As usual I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often for updates. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.

Golden Valley Brewery (McMinnville) is hosting a Thanksgiving day three course dinner next week for folks who don’t already have Thanksgiving plans (a nice alternative), and they are following up on the weekend with a special beer and oyster release: Alaskan Oysters and Atlas Elevator Bock on the 23rd and 24th (Friday and Saturday) from 3 to 6pm each day. “Our annual release of our Atlas Elevator will coincide with the debut of the Alaska Kachemak Bay Oysters served fresh at both Golden Valley brewery locations in Beaverton and McMinnville Oregon. Atlas Elevator Bock: This is a traditional German style Bock brewed with classic lager yeast; dark, malty and strong; yet Atlas Elevator is uncommonly smooth, balanced and velvety on the palate. This beer is only available From November thru February at Golden Valley Brewery locations. OG 1.065% ABV 6.6% IBU 20”

Silver Moon Brewing (Bend): Their Growler Power Hour specials this week are for Hounds Tooth Amber and Legacy Lager; between 4 and 6pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, you can fill a growler with either (or both) of these featured beers for only $6. (And Legacy Lager is a great beer and GABF medal winner!)

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuring “Live” Cerise Nouveau: “This NW style sour ale is the Beaujolais Nouveau of cherry beers. It’s a blend of red ales aged in oak barrels for up to eight months, then aged on fresh Bing cherries for an additional three months. Best consumed now through the holidays with friends. 9.52% ABV, $7.5 glass, $2.5 taster.”  And then, on Wednesday (tomorrow) they are releasing a limited batch of Cerise Nouveau in bottles that will be $21 per bottle (with a four bottle limit).

GoodLife Brewing (Bend): If you’ve been wanting to get a taste of GoodLife’s beer, including something special, they will be pouring beers at Roscoe’s in Portland tonight starting at 6pm. “[W]e’ll be at Roscoe’s pouring Descender IPA, Sweet As Pacific Ale, and a limited edition Pass Stout ‘N A Wine Barrel!!! We aged our Pass Stout in a Syrah barrel for 1 year letting the two blend to perfection! Come join us to try this amazing beer and win some swag!”

Laurelwood Brewing (Portland) is today holding a special fundraiser at all three of its locations for industry friend Morgan Miller of Ninkasi Brewing, who recently had open heart surgery and will subsequently miss nearly two months of work. Laurelwood is donating 20% of their total proceeds from all three brewpubs today to benefit Miller and help him and his family get through these next few weeks. If you can, visit Laurelwood today and help out by drinking a beer (or three) and order up some food. Every little bit helps!
