Oregon BeerHere’s the beer news from around Oregon for  Tuesday the 23rd of October. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day as I find news, so check back often for the latest updates. And if you have news you’d like to share, please contact me and I can get that posted as well.

Killer Beer Week continues today, the week-long fourth anniversary celebration of Brewpublic that showcases Cascadian beer with great events. Today is Killer Washington Beer Night at the Salmon Creek Brewpub in Vancouver—technically not an “Oregon” event but it is just across the river! “Just across the Columbia River, The New Salmon Creek Brewpub (108 W. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver, WA) will line their taps with numerous beers from some of Washington State’s finest craft breweries. Just moments from Portland city proper, get ready for killer pours of specialty releases from the likes of Black Raven, Naked City, Fremont, Elysian, Walking Man, Mt Tabor, Big Al, Schooner Exact, Boundary Bay, Chuckanut, Ice Harbor, and more!” It starts at 4pm, don’t miss out.

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Their Tap It Tuesday tonight starting at 6pm features “Live” Cinnamon Triple: “This NW style sour triple ale was barrel aged for 11 months, then aged on several additions of Thai cinnamon and red peppercorns for another four months. You’ll first notice aromas of cinnamon with hints of vanillin and oak. Soft, aged creamy malts, cinnamon and a little spice bite on the palate lead to a tart, slightly spicy cinnamon finish that has a lingering dusty, peppery note. 8.2% ABV / $7 Glass / $2.5 Taster.”

Silver Moon Brewing (Bend): This week’s Growler Power Hour specials (where you can get a $6 growler fill on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 to 6pm) are for Oktoberfest and Hounds Tooth Amber Ale. And as a side note, Silver Moon also has their Twisted Gourd Pumpkin Ale available on tap now too, a good “classic” spiced pumpkin beer (and worth seeking out if you like the pumpkin beers, like I do).

10 Barrel Brewing (Bend) and Lompoc Brewing (Portland) are teaming up with Central Oregon’s Brasada Ranch resort to present a four-course beer dinnerthat looks great: “On Saturday, October 27th, Brewmasters Bryan Keilty of Lompoc Brewing and Tonya Cornett of 10 Barrel Brewing Company will join Chef Adrian Carpenter to pair their finest Oregon beers with a four course menu, starting with drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres. Following the reception, guests will enjoy a four course menu paired with beers from our Guest Brewmasters.”  The reception is at 6pm and the dinner starts at 7; cost is $65 and space is limited so call (888) 651-4859 for reservations if you’re interested in attending.

Burnside Brewing‘s Night of the Living Ales is taking place this Friday at the brewery in Portland and this looks to be a crazy Halloween event! This description says it all: “The 3rd annual Night of the Living Ales is the ultimate Halloween extravaganza designed around everything that makes Portland and Halloween great – craft beers, booze, burlesque, costume contests, go-go dancers and the album release for local hometown favorite Boy Eats Drum Machine with additional musical stylings from Oh, Darling. Taking place Friday October 26th under a large tent on 7th and E. Burnside outside of Burnside Brewing Co. NOTLA celebrates everything crafty and fun about Halloween from special cocktails at the full bar to elaborate fun decor by Bloke designs, killer music from Boy Eats Drum Machine and unique hand-crafted beers you wont find anywhere else from the likes of Burnside Brewing, Oakshire Brewing, Upright Brewing, Ninkasi Brewing, Bushwhacker Cidery, Lompoc Brewing and more.”  It’s only $10 and that would be worth trying the unique beers alone. This is probably the party to be at Friday night!
