Oregon BeerHere is the Oregon beer news for Thursday, October 22. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.

The Bier Stein (Eugene): Today they are hosting the third anniversary party for Corvallis-based meadery, Nectar Creek Honeywine, from 5 to 8pm: “It’s hard to believe that just three years have passed since Nectar Creek started filling our neck of the woods with their refreshing take on an ancient beverage. The purveyors of session meads will be here partying down, and we will have some of their goodies on tap, including: -Reserve No. 4, Strawberry Rhubarb; -2nd Anniversary, Bourbon Barrel with Ginger.” I agree—hard to believe it’s only been three years; congrats Nectar Creek!

Brewpublic’s epic Killer Beer Week continues tonight with Killer Oregon Coastal Brewery Night taking place at the Orenco Taphouse in Hillsboro: “Right off the Max train line in Hillsboro’s Orenco Village sits Orenco Taphouse. On this evening enjoy a slew of craft beer from Oregon’s coast. Find special releases from Pelican, Yachats, Fort George, Arch Rock, Astoria Brewing, Rusty Truck, Seaside Brewing and much more. If you haven’t made it out to Orenco Taphouse yet, check them out, especially on this killer night of beer that you don’t often find too often here in the Willamette Valley.” It runs from 6 to 11pm and if you’re thirsty for the coastal beers, be there!

Belmont Station (Portland): They are hosting a tasting with WildCraft Cider Works today from 5 to 7pm: “Eugene-based WildCraft Cider Works ferments innovative, artisanal dry ciders inspired by traditional and wild methodology. Insisting on whole fruit and botanicals grown in Oregon to create pure ciders without artificial flavorings, sulfites or added sweeteners, WildCraft cider is uniquely dry cider unpasteurized & bottle conditioned. Come taste a nice selection of these ciders and take a few bottles home!”

McMenamins across all Oregon locations today is holding a big fundraiser for UCC Strong in support of the victims of the recent Roseburg shooting: $1 from every pint sold of any beer will be donated to UCC Strong all day long, and at Roseburg Station tonight starting at 5pm, they are donating 50% of total sales (after 5pm) to UCC Strong. Make sure to get out to your nearest McMenamins today for a pint or 2!

The Green Dragon (Portland): Tonight’s meet the brewer is featuring Mill City Brew Werks out of Camas, Washington, and brewer/owner Mark Zech. “Enjoy the following beers introduced by Mark himself: Zech Bavarian Hefeweizen, Fresh Hop Cascade Pale, Logsplitter Imperial IPA, and Trip Wire Russian Imperial Stout aged in Kraken Rum Barrels. See you at 5pm. Cheers.”

Golden Valley Brewery (McMinnville): They had a beer go on tap today at 3pm that sounds yummmmmy: “Our oatmeal stout aged for nine months in Kentucky bourbon barrels previously used to age our imperial stout. Residual character from the barrels’ previous contents, along with the portion lost to evaporation, have fortified this already sturdy stout. OG 1.060 IBU 40 ABV 6.5%”
