Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting the bottle release party for Perennial Artisan Ales’ Saison de Lis from 5 to 7pm tonight: “In the shadow of a rather large industrial brewery in St. Louis, Missouri, Perennial Artisan Ales started brewing food-friendly Belgian- and American-inspired styles in 2011. Perennial’s Saison de Lis is a straw-colored Belgian-style Saison brewed with chamomile flowers. It is fermented with a traditional saison yeast strain that imparts fruity and spicy notes that dovetail perfectly with the tea-like quality of the chamomile and finishes dry, tart, and refreshing. Previously only recently available here on draft, we are thrilled to bring in their beautiful bottles for the first time in Portland. To celebrate, in the taproom, we will be pouring several special Perennial drafts, including some that have never been poured here before.” Great opportunity to try some very hard-to-find-in-Oregon beer.
Killer Chris Fest! Today’s Killer Beer Week event by Brewpublic is taking place at The Beermongers starting at 6pm—and, as you might expect by the name, features beers brewed by and dedicated to people named “Chris” in the industry (think BenFest…): “This year we honor the Chris’ of the craft beer world with this special night at The BeerMongers. Keep your eyes peeled and your taste buds ready for specialty beers by and dedicated to the likes of beer fest wrangler Chris Crabb, Old Ivy and former Amnesia/Rogue brewer Chris Spollen, GoodLife beer dude Chris Nelson, Fort George co-founder and brewer Chris “Nimz” Nemlowill, and several other awesome folks representing the namesake, including a pack of mainstays from the ‘Mongers. See ya there!”
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday at their Barrel House at 6pm is featuring Noyaux 2014: “offering a sneak preview of our new 2014 Noyaux project. Noyaux is a blend of Blond and Triple sour ales aged in white wine barrels with raspberries and apricot noyaux. Offering a complex bouquet of raspberry fruit, rose petals, toasted almonds and soft perfume notes, the 2014 Noyaux will be released in bottle and draft in the weeks to follow. 9.2% ABV, $7.5 glass, $2.5 taster”
Sasquatch Brewing (Portland) has a pumpkin beer on tap now: “A pumpkin beer comes only once a year! This October we bring to you the Sasquash, a roasty ale with notes of allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon. Best of all it’s brewed with real pumpkin, for the true blue, Pacific North Westerner.”
Deschutes Brewery (Bend) has announced the date for this year’s release of The Dissident, their Oud Bruin-styled sour brown ale: “We have good, no make that awesome, news for all you sour beer fans out there. The Dissident has told us that it’s ready to be bottled so you can mark your calendars for Thursday, November 12 to be the first to pick yours up at our pubs and tasting room.” There you go—mark your calendars for November 12!
The Raccoon Lodge (Portland) has a new beer of their own out now: “New porter now pouring, crafted from select malts and hops for a complex yet balanced dark ale. Flavors and aromas of roasted malt, dark fruit and chocolate are complemented by notes of coffee, sweet smoke and a citrusy, resinous bitterness.” One you won’t see at the Barrel House anytime soon (unless they sour it up).
