Oregon Beer News, 10/16/2017

Happy Monday! Here is the Oregon beer news to kick off this second half of October. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news as I find it, so check back often. If you have news to share, please let me know and I can get that updated as well.

It’s Jubelale Day at Bend’s Deschutes Brewery! The 2017 edition of Jubelale is officially released today, and at the Bend Pub from 5 to 8pm they are hosting this year’s label artist, MaryLea Harris, to talk about her art and sign posters. And at the Portland Pub they are kicking off a week-long Jubelale celebration which will include tastings, food pairings, and more. If you’re in Bend be sure to stop in for the poster!

The Bier Stein in Eugene is hosting the Brett Lager release with GoodLife Brewing and The Ale Apothecary this evening from 5 to 8pm: “Well, this is about as left field as it gets, and we are excited to be the first in Eugene to have this beer on tap and in bottles! Tyler West, head brewer at GoodLife (formerly of Oakshire), and Paul Arney, founder of Ale Apothecary, will both be here!” Brett Lager is a Dortmunder-styled lager that was aged in Sokol Blosser wine barrels for 18 months with The Ale Apothecary’s unique blend of wild yeasts. This is definitely one to check out.

Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting the can release party for Reverend Nat’s Cider today from 5 to 8pm: “Reverend Nat’s has been creating some of the most unique ciders here in Portland since 2013. We welcome the Rev Nat’s crew for a release of two of their most popular ciders, Revival Dry & Sacrilege Sour Cherry, in cans. The Rev Nat’s crew will be pouring free samples of both new canned ciders and giving away some swag. Go “bobbing for cider”! Choose a can of Revival or Sacrilege Sour Cherry from their special cooler to drink in the Biercafe for a chance to win a cool Rev. Nat’s prize. We will also have The Passion cider on draft in our Biercafe.”

Congrats to Three Creeks Brewing for raising money for charity with the Sisters Fresh Hop Festival! They tweeted today: “Together, we raised over $10,000 for the American Cancer Society at Sisters Fresh Hop Festival! Save the date for next year: 9.29.18!”
