The fifth annual Killer Beer Week from Brewpublic kicks off this Friday the 18th and runs through the 27th—and promises a full slate of some amazing events coming to Portland and Eugene! Friday’s event is the Killer Beer Summit kickoff taking place at Roscoe’s in Portland, starting at 4pm and featuring a lineup of 16 killer beers and will make for a great evening. Make sure to be there!
The Green Dragon (Portland) tonight has a book release and signing and a Green Dragon Brew Crew beer release to go along with it starting at 5pm: “The Beeroness, Jackie Dodd cooks with craft beer. She’s been writing her blog to share the craft of using beer as a key ingredient and now she’s collected 100 of delicious recipes into her Craft Beer Cookbook. Jackie will be dropping by The Green Dragon to sign copies of her books. She might even have a few secrets for you on how to add a little bit of beer to the cooking process — both in the food and in your glass.” The beer pouring will be a Cranberry Kolsch.
Lompoc Brewing (Portland) has a special release party for their seasonal Monster Mash taking place at The BeerMongers tonight, from 6 to 9pm: “Join Irena, Bryan, and Grant as they reveal this year’s version of Monster Mash Imperial Porter on tap! We will also be pouring some rare treats from Lompoc including Sticky Wicket ESB, Port Barrel-aged Big Bang Red, and a special IPA made for the Seattle Heathman Hotel. We will also have bottles of Monster Mash available to go.”
McMenamins Cedar Hills (Beaverton) has a limited-edition beer tasting starting at 4pm today, featuring Bonaparte’s Oak-Aged Ale: “Bonaparte’s is a French Oak-aged Ale. Aged on French Oak for a solid three weeks, this Extra Special Bitter has absorbed the perfect amount of earthy wood character. This Ale is more malty than it is hoppy. Maris otter malt and golden promise are the high quality malts used in the mash. Nugget sterling and perle hops give the beer 49 IBUs which is a lot for an ESB but still not enough to take over the malty essence of this aged Ale. Cheers.”
The Platypus Pub (Bend) now has their own beer officially on tap! “Finally!! Platypus Pub has our first beer on tap. Stop by and try Arch Rival IPA on tap now.” With beer being sold I will be adding them to the official list as #23 for Central Oregon.
