Oregon Beer News, 10/10/2017

Oregon Beer, Belmont StationHere is the news in Oregon beer for this Tuesday, October 10. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.

Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting Bend’s Crux Fermentation Project for a Fresh Hop Trifecta beer tasting tonight from 5 to 8pm: “This is your chance to try this year’s Crux Fresh Hop Trifecta in one place. Brewer Chris Meinke will be in-house talking Crux and sharing the stories behind the beers. Fresh Hop Beers On Tap: Dr Jack – IPA Cascade Hop, Way Two Fresh – Imp. IPA / Mosaic & Simcoe, and Crystal Zwickle – Pale Ale w/ Crystal.”

In Eugene, The Bier Stein has a HOP-Up Pub featuring fresh hops, starting today and running through Thursday the 12th: “And you thought it was winter beer season…. We’re doing a fresh-hop and one-off IPA blowout, so hop on by and enjoy the bright, dank, citrus, tropical, and other IP-Adjective aromas from these breweries: Block 15, 3 Magnets, pFriem, Sunriver, Double Mountain, Claim 52, Stone, Buoy, Modern Times, Founders, Crux, and Silver Moon”

Ninkasi Brewing (Eugene): Their Pints for a Cause fundraiser today is benefiting Science Factory: “Join us at the Tasting Room for Pints for a Cause! From noon to 10pm, $1 from each pint sold in the Tasting Room will go to Science Factory.” Make sure to get over to their tasting room today for a pint or three!

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Bend and Portland pubs, where $1 from every pint sold goes to benefit a local non-profit. Unfortunately I haven’t seen which organizations are receiving the benefits this month but still a good opportunity to head down to one of the pubs and help out with a few pints of some fresh hop beers.

Cascade Brewing (Portland) has 2015 Pumpkin Smash going on tap today: “Enjoy the creamy smoothness of the 2015 Pumpkin Smash on our Nitro Tap beginning today at opening, only at the Barrel House. Pumpkin Smash is a blend of select quad ales aged in bourbon and brandy barrels for up to 22 months with pumpkin and spices. Made with house-roasted pumpkins grown on Portland’s Sauvie Island, this Northwest sour ale features robust pumpkin and spice flavors ending with a rich, warming finish.”

Thunder Island Brewing (Cascade Locks) is hosting their Tap It Tuesday meet the brewer event tonight from 5 to 9pm: “It’s Tap It Tuesday! Come throw back a beer and meet our Head Brewer Andrew Rosette and try some of our beers from the cellar. It’s one of our last sunny patio days, so soak in the suds and sunshine while you can. Andrew joins the Thunder Island Brewing family after spending a couple years in Ireland starting up Killarney Brewing Company, before that he was at Double Mountain. Outside of the brewhouse, you’ll find him mostly outside on the trails.”

Oregon City Brewing is hosting Tuesday Night Pints for Charity this evening starting at 5pm, benefiting John McLoughlin school PTSO: “Join us on Tuesday October 10th at Oregon City Brewing Co. for a fun night out with friends and family! For every OCB pint, taster tray, soda, crowler, and growler purchased $1 will be donated back to the JME PTSO!”

Rogue Ales‘ 31 Days of Dead Guy continues, with today being “Dead Guy Tiki Tuesday” at their locations: “Join us for Tiki Tuesday all day with a Dead Guy twist. Wear your tiki shirt, bring your Rogue Nation ID and get ready for $3 pints of Dead Guy or whatever your poison is. Look out for a few Dead Guy surprises while you’re there. Dead Guy Tiki Tuesday will take place at all Portland Rogue Public Houses, including Rogue Ales & Spirits Hall, Rogue Ales & Spirits Eastside Pub & Pilot Brewery & Rogue Ales & Spirits Distillery & Public House.”
