McMenamins Oak Hills Brewpub (Portland) has its limited-edition beer tasting tonight from 5 to 8pm, featuring Night of the Living Bread Imperial Stout from brewer Dan Black. “Brewers take ingredients grown from the earth and add yeast to bring our concoctions to life. This Imperial Stout is full of life, provided by six different malts that contribute flavors of roast, chocolate, toffee and bread. A large dose of dark Belgian Candi Syrup adds additional notes of toffee, with Chinook and US Golding Hops, star anise and mugwort to balance out the brew.” It’s 9.03% ABV which sounds perfect for this time of year.

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): It’s Jubelale release day! The Bend Pub is hosting the release party for Jubelale starting at 5pm: “Celebrate the annual Jubelale release here at the Bend Pub the evening of October 17th. As most may know beer can come in many different forms. On the night of this release we will be offering Jubelale on co2 and Nitro, as well as featuring 100% barrel aged Super Jubel. Join us at the pub for an evening filled with our amazing festive winter ale and be sure to pick up your 2018 Label artwork posters. This years art work was collectively done by our amazing co-owners. Fell free to grab any Deschutes Brewery Co-owner if you would like your poster signed by one of the many artists.”

ColdFire Brewing (Eugene) is hosting Pints for Preschool today starting at 4pm, raising funds for the Patterson Preschool Cooperative: “Come join us for some pints and help support Patterson Preschool Cooperative!! For every pint bought $1 will be donated to the school. Coldfire Brewing has some of the best brews in town and is kid friendly so the tots can tag along! If your hungry Slydogs Gourmet sliders & hotdogs food truck will be open all night. We are so excited to see everyone, thank you for your support!”

Portland’s StormBreaker Brewing and Old Town Brewing collaborated on a new beer, Hazy Rider IPA, purported to have been brewed entirely on scooters. Today is the scooter-ific release party: “Two Breweries. One Beer. The collective minds behind Old Town Brewing and Stormbreaker Brewing join forces for a Collabrewation like no other. A shared thirst for hazy brews meets a passion for local scootering. The result? Uncharted territory. The first beer ever crafted entirely on scooters. This Wednesday, October 17th, we invite you to enroll in our quest for adventure. To sip the suds that scooters built and enjoy the scoots of our labor. Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting the new cans release from Wayfinder Beer today from 5 to 8pm: “Wayfinder is releasing its very first round of cans — the terrific Terrifico Italian Horror Pils — so let’s help them celebrate! We will be getting Wayfinder’s very first cans just a few hours off the canning line, so come join the Wayfinder crew and be among the first to take some home!”

Hopworks Urban Brewery (Portland) is rolling out two new beers today at all of its locations: “On Wednesday, October 17th we will be rolling out our newest Brut IPA, Raspberry Bubble Trouble. We will be tapping this bubbly brew at all 3 pubs starting at 5pm.
Raspberry Bubble Trouble Brut IPA is an effervescent, bone dry and super bubbly IPA inspired by a tall flute of champagne. Raspberries add a layer of tartness and pinkish hue that’s akin to sparkling Rosé. 6% ABV.
Three Sides to Every Story – 3 malts and 3 hops in this behemoth of an IPA! Upfront blasts of dankness, tropical fruit and citrus from huge amounts of hops in our whirlpool and dry hop. 3% wheat adds a little body and 3% caramel malt adds a touch of rich balance to a crisp and clean bitterness. 10.5% ABV”

Salem Ale Works is offering Craft Beer 101 on Fall Seasonal Beers tonight from 6:30 to 8:30pm: “Join Salem Ale Works beer professor, and national award winning homebrewer, Ryan Holt for a hands on exploration of the traditional Fall beer styles. From Oktoberfest to Pumpkin beers we will explore the what and why of the beers of Autumn. History and origins of the styles, the ingredients that define these beers and some of the unique processes used to produce them will all be explored. Then, explore the range of beer profiles as we lead you through a tasting of several examples. Limited to 20 participants. Ticket Price: $25, includes 1 half pint of SAW beer and Fall beer samples. Roscoe’s (Portland) is hosting Ruse Brewing for a Ruse night starting at 5pm: “Join Roscoe’s and Ruse Brewing for a new beer kick-off event! The following beers will be featured:
Audio Aquatic – DDH NE IPA
Double Dry hopped IPA with Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic, Citra and El Dorado. 7.5%
The Stages of Dusk Chocolate Stout
American Stout conditioned on organic cacao. 8% ABV.
Florissant Animals – Fruited Berliner
Tart Wheat Ale conditioned with Syrah grapes, on a massive amount of blackberries and fresh squeezed lime juice.”

Vagabond Brewing (Salem) has a new beer just tapped: “Blackberry Fields Forever. This lil’ beaut is a 7.6% Brut IPA with blackberries & vanilla beans. The beer has a hint of tartness and a dry finish that is rounded out by the smoothness of vanilla.”

Wayfinder Beer has a new beer on tap that came out yesterday: “Grave Rehearsal ON TAP NOW! This collaboration with Swedish brewery Stigbergets Bryggeri is our take on a England-Style IPA. Floral, hop forward, with a rich and super juicy mouthfeel. Simpsons Golden Promise malt, flaked oats, Crisp Dextrin malt. Lots of Nelson Sauvin and Centennial hops. 6.2%ABV, 16P, 55IBU”

Manifest Beer (Eugene) has a couple of IPAs on tap to check out: “Highly Recommended IPA and Imminent HOP. Although they look similar they are different. Putting you noses to the test here!!!! Highly Recommended 6.2 ABV. 55IBU uses, mosaic cascade and Amarillo in the dry hop Imminent Hop 7.2 ABV 99 IBU uses Mosaic Cryo, Amarillo, Cascade Columbus, and Citra in the dry hop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED we use oats and wheat where as Imminent Hop has only German grown barley.”

Avid Cider (Bend) has what I believe is its first hopped cider coming out: “A Blackberry Cascade Hopped Cider is in the works! One thing you are going to see lots more of in our 3 Oregon Taprooms is specialty single batch ciders that we test out on draft before bringing to the greater market. This Saturday we will start pouring this at our GRAND Opening – AVID Pdx Pearl and next Friday in Bend at our Fright Night – Halloween Costume Party!”
