Oregon Beer, McMenamins Cedar HillsIf you weren’t already aware, it’s International Talk Like a Pirate Day today, one of the internet’s favorite “holidays.” Perhaps seek out some pirate-themed beers for the day? Salem’s Santiam Brewing might be able to help you out. For all other generally non-pirate beer news today, read on; I’ll be updating periodically throughout the day, so check back from time to time as well.

McMenamins Cedar Hills (Beaverton) has its monthly limited-edition beer tasting tonight, featuring beer from Oak Hills brewer Dan Black: Super Brink IPSB. “This hoppy Steam Beer was made by fermenting a lager yeast at ale temperatures, which creates a smooth, crisp, malty lager feel. A ton of hops were used throughout the boil and this brew was dry-hopped twice to provide that classic Northwest IPA hoppiness. This India Pale Steam Beer stands alone while blazing its own path. Enjoy the Super Brink IPSB!” It runs from 5 to 8pm.
