Oregon BeerHere’s the Oregon beer news for Wednesday, July 18. As usual I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day so check back often for the latest updates. And if you have news to share please contact me and I can that updated as well.

McMenamins Oak Hills Brewpub (Portland) has a limited-edition tasting today starting at 4pm featuring “Smokey Hopinson Bourbon IPA” (intriguing name to say the least!): “For the July release at Oak Hills brewer Stephen Harper will be presenting this special keg of Bourbon IPA — an interesting beer which showcases a wide variety of flavors. The aroma is a dank offering of earthy, piney hops intermingled with the subtle smoke and oak notes. Take a sip and enjoy the familiar hop bitterness and flavor accompanied by a smooth yet present bourbon-flavored finish.” It’s 6.61% abv and available at happy hour prices all night until it’s gone.

The Bier Stein (Eugene) is holding their third (and final) dual tap takeover today for Oregon Craft Beer Month, featuring Ninkasi Brewing and Double Mountain Brewery in the house: “Help us celebrate Oregon Craft Beer Month this Wednesday, with the 3rd and final Collaborative Total Tap Takeover! We will be tapping rare and small batch beers from Eugene’s own Ninkasi Brewing and Double Mountain from Hood River! Here’s a sneak peek @ the taplist: Ninkasi – ‘3 Ring Circus’ (brewed w/Shmaltz and Speakeasy), Sasquatch Legacy Wheat Wine! Double Mountain – ‘Formidable’ (Belgian Imperial Stout), Devils’ Kriek!
