Oregon BeerHappy Bastille Day! Pick up a French-inspired beer to enjoy this weekend to celebrate. In the meantime here is the news and events in Oregon beer for this weekend of July 14. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that posted as well.

Friday, 7/14

The Bier Stein (Eugene) is hosting Bend’s Monkless Belgian Ales for a Eugene launch party from 5 to 8pm: “It is rare to find a brewery outside of Belgium that produces exclusively Belgian-style beer. Myths abound in homebrewing circles about how to produce an authentic-tasting version. The reason these beers are so challenging to make is because the most influential ingredient is also the only living ingredient in beer: yeast. And so when we find an American-made Belgian-style beer that hits the mark, we rejoice! Monkless Belgian Ales opened in Bend in 2014, operating on a 1-barrel system. It soon expanded its capacity tenfold, and recently started to distribute its beer. We invite you to welcome Monkless to Eugene, and to taste a wide range of its beers on tap.”
