The Ale Apothecary (Bend): This is huge for anyone who wants to get some first glimpses of Bend’s newest operating brewery: “Brewery doors will be open today between 4 & 5…peddling our first batch of ale for $15 per 750 ml bottle. Come see the brewery and get a taste of what we’ve embarked upon!” Paul Arney had actually opened up on Saturday as well and I stopped by (post with pictures forthcoming), and if you can visit you absolutely should do so! It’s a great first glimpse into one of Oregon’s newest, smallest, and most innovative breweries. Oh and the beer’s good too!
Belmont Station (Portland): Today they are hosting “Gravity Mountain Night” from 2pm on, featuring the collaboration brew between Terminal Gravity and Double Mountain. “As you know, GRAVITY MOUNTAIN was produced in bottles only by Terminal Gravity and on draft only by Double Mountain. At the end of the bottling run at Terminal Gravity there was not enough left to do another run but nobody wants to waste beer–especially one as great as this IPA–so a keg was racked and today is your opportunity to try both Gravity Mountains on draft side by side while they last.”
Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Next week is the brewery’s 24th anniversary, and they’re celebrating at both the Bend and Portland Pubs all day on Wednesday the 27th. In Bend there will be live music, “a back-alley BBQ, barrel-aged beers, firkins of fun, give-aways every 24th minute” and specials on the original Bachelor Bitter. Similarly in Portland there will be “specialty food menu all day long, barrel-aged beers, firkins of fun, give-aways and a beer-of-the-hour.” It’s going to be a good day!
