Oregon Beer News, 05/16/2017

Oregon BeerToday is Gluten-Free Beer Day, as declared by former Portland Mayor Sam Adams back in 2012! Commemorate the day with some beer from Ground Breaker Brewing or MoonShrimp Brewing along with the Oregon beer news below. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that posted as well.

Astoria’s Buoy Beer Company is celebrating their third anniversary today! It’s a bit low-key but they write: “Come drink a beer to help us celebrate our 3rd birthday! $3 pints all day! Cake cutting and music a little after 5!”

LIVE Lavender Lemon is a blend of sour blond and triple ales aged in oak barrels for up to 16 months with late infusions of lavender and Meyer lemon peel. Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes pubs, where $1 of every pint of beer sold goes to benefit a local non-profit. I don’t know who the Bend Pub benefits this month, but the Portland Pub is donating to Friends of Trees, so either way head down and help out with a pint or three.
