Happy Friday! You’ve made it through another week, and we’re at the halfway point in the month—treat yourself to a beer! Here’s the news for the weekend of the 15th; as usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often. Fort George Brewery (Astoria) continues to roll out this year’s new 3-Way IPA this weekend: tonight they are holding the first tapping release party in Portland at Roscoe’s starting at 5pm, and Fort George as well as Pfriem and Georgetown will be in the house. And then tomorrow in Eugene, they will be at The Bier Stein from 5 to 8pm: “This event will be the inaugural tapping; we’ll have cans and occasional kegs until the supply runs out! In addition to the 3-Way, each brewery will have three hoppy beers on tap, woohoo!”

Coin Toss Brewing (Oregon City): Tomorrow (Saturday the 16th) is the release party for their new house brews, taking place at the Trails End Saloon in the OC: “Join us for the Oregon City debut of Black Hohl Cascadian Dark Ale, our flagship beer, and George’s Honest Ale, the first in our Heritage Series of historical brews. The historic Trails End Saloon. 1320 Main Street, is hosting us for a fun evening that will feature samples and pints of both beers. Food will be available for purchase, and door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening. Oregon City blues favorite Rae Gordon will perform a special acoustic set. Minors are allowed until 7 p.m.” It runs from 5 to 9pm.

McMenamins Bagdad Pub (Portland) has their “Reel Beer Series” special tasting tonight featuring the Miami Weisse Pineapple Berliner Weisse that debuted out at the Edgefield yesterday: “In an alternate world where Dolph Lundgren beat out Don Johnson to be cast as Detective James Crockett, the style of the ‘80s was ‘Leiderhosen and Armani jacket’ instead of ‘t-shirt and Armani jacket’ and the beer that Sonny and Rico would reach for at the end of another day solving crime was Miami Weisse. Miami Weisse is a light, sour traditional German wheat beer with a South Beach twist of pineapple sweetness to make it the perfect warm weather thirst slayer.” It starts at 5pm and lasts until it’s gone.

Worthy Brewing (Bend): Their Firkin Friday special is, “Farm Out Saison with blood oranges.” They’ve prepped a special one-time firkin cask to be tapped at 4pm, and it will be available for $3 pints until it’s gone.
