Roseburg Beer Week continues today with a couple of events to check out. First, McMenamins Roseburg Station is hosting a special limited-edition beer tasting featuring Oak Aged MM: “For batch number 2000 (Roman numeral MM) at the Roseburg Station Brewery, the Brewer sought out to find 20 different malts and 20 different hops worthy of combining in this momentous brew. The blend of malts provides a sturdy full bodied base with flavors of caramel, nuts, chocolate and rye and a chocolate brown color. A bounty of hops counters the malts with citrus, tropical floral and spicy aromas and flavors. You could say there is a sampling of every batch brewed here at Roseburg Station in this winter warmer. Be sure to try this one before it’s gone!” This runs from 5 to 7:30pm.
And then O’Toole’s Pub is hosting a Blind Beer Tasting Contest from 6 to 9pm: “Get all five blind beer tastes correct and you’ll be entered into a drawing for sweet prizes, including swag and gift certificates!”
Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Bend and Portland pubs, where they donate $1 of every pint sold to a charitable organization for the month. In Bend, they are benefiting the Bend Spay & Neuter Project today, and in Portland they benefit Luke-Dorf (“Luke-Dorf helps the greater Portland area through mental health recovery, homeless outreach, as well as housing placement and support”). Go have a pint or three today!
Wild Ride Brewing (Redmond): They are celebrating their second anniversary this Saturday, but today is the actual day they opened two years ago: “What a wild ride it’s been! Two years ago today we opened our doors for business. And while we’re throwing an Anniversary party this Saturday to celebrate it, we couldn’t let today pass without its own celebration. Come by the Tap Room from 5pm-7pm as we’ll be hosting an ice cream bar with beer floats and such! Cheers!”
Pelican Brewing (Pacific City): According to the New School, Pelican’s new Cannon Beach brewpub should be opening today! “This 11,422 sq. foot full restaurant and 10 bbl pub brewery will be the second in Cannon Beach, after the 19 year old Bill’s Tavern and Brewery and just ahead of the upcoming Public Coast Brewing. Here is our first look at this new coastal destination in the small but beautiful tourist town of Cannon Beach.”
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Today’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuring L’orange du Jour: “We took a sour strong blond ale aged with figs and dates for 15 months in a chardonnay barrel, then infused a late addition of Cara Cara orange zest just before blending to evoke notes of cherry, rose petal, orange and blackberry. L’orange du Jour provides a pleasant, soft mouthfeel complementing notes of oak, citrus and a soft sourness.”
Santiam Brewing (Salem): Tonight from 5 to 9pm they are hosting a fundraiser that will benefit the Salem Friends of Felines: “Please join the Thrill Kill Kittens on May 10th at Santiam Brewing Company for some beer and fun! We will have items to raffle/auction in hopes of raising funds toward team gear as well as toward our team charity, Salem Friends of Felines. Invite your friends! Every item auction will be made or upcycled by the team! Bidding starts at the beginning of this event and ends at 7:30pm. You need to be present to win both auction items and the raffle. Cash and credit card accepted! $1 per pint and growler fill during this event will benefit us!”
Plank Town Brewing in Springfield is also hosting a charity tonight from 5 to 8:30pm: “Join us in supporting Second Chance Charities tonight 5-8:30pm. Drop by for great food & beer and we’ll donate a percentage of all proceeds! Our bartender Trevor devotes a ton of energy to helping others through this group so it’s a great evening to come by.”
