Oregon BeerHere is the news in beer from around Oregon for Wednesday, May 6. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often for updates. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.

Claim 52 Brewing (Eugene) is pairing up with Eugene’s Marché restaurant to put on a beer dinner tonight starting at 6:30pm. It’s a five-course, prix-fixe menu for $65 per person, and you can find details here; it’s a nice-looking spread, starting with a beer cocktail (made with Claim 52’s Insta IPA) and the rest of the courses paired with their beers. You can get reservations by calling 541-342-3612.

The Green Dragon (Portland) has a Green Dragon Brew Crew release tonight, featuring guest brewer Cody Hoesly and their beer “I Did It For The Lulz” Kolsch: “When Cody Hoesly won a chance to create a brew with the Green Dragon Brew Crew, he knew it had to be something special. “I wanted to brew something to celebrate my daughter Lola’s first birthday and I decided on a Kolsch because I like Germany and it’s a great beer for a sunny day,” says Cody. We can’t guarantee you a sunny day this Wednesday, but drop in to try this home-brewed ale with a proud tradition.” The beer is 5.1% abv and 22 IBUs, and the release starts at 5pm.

The Platypus Pub (Bend) is hosting a tasting and release for Ayinger Maibock with Merchant du Vin (the importers of Ayinger) tonight from 6 to 8pm. MdV rep Tom Bowers will be on hand pouring samples of Maibock and other Ayinger beers, and the Platypus will also have Celebrator Doppelbock on tap (simply one of the best, if not the best, Doppelbocks in the world, in my opinion).

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Their Sang Rouge 2013 is being release today: “Releasing Sang Rouge 2013 in bottles & draft today at the Barrel House & Raccoon Lodge & Brewpub. Blend of Reds ales aged in oak wine barrels and oak foudres for up to 3 years – $20/bottle. We’ll also be tapping at the Barrel House only a vintage keg of 2009 Sang Rouge at the Barrel House that’s been aging in our cellar for 5 years. Extraordinarily limited release, available in 4 oz. glasses until it’s gone!” Don’t miss out!

Two Kilts Brewing (Sherwood): They have a new bottled beer out and are having a release celebration of some sort tonight: “Come on down tonight to celebrate our release of Crystal Sunshine in bottles! We have a special going on Berlinerweiss and Crystal Kush- pints for $2 and pitchers and growler fills for $10.” Crystal Sunshine is what was formally known as Crystal Kush, a California Common that’s 5.2% abv. They’ll be selling 22-ounce bottles at their taproom for only $4—a great deal no matter how you slice it!

Leikam Brewing (Portland) has some beer updates posted as well as an offer of spent grains for anyone who can make use of them: “Currently on tap: Mob Barley Stout. The Come Pale Away is fermenting and we are brewing the Janis Hoplin IPA today on the big system. Who needs grains? Know a farmer who wants to pick them up about 2x a month?”
