Oregon Beer, The Bier SteinHere is the news in Oregon beer for Tuesday, May 22, rounding up the various events and happenings for the day. As usual I will be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news as I find it, so check back occasionally. If you have anything to share feel free to send it my way.

The Bier Stein (Eugene) is hosting its Tapping Into Community benefit tonight, featuring Ex Novo Brewing and Burrito Brigade: “On May 22nd, we are Tapping into Community with a keg of Ex Novo’s “The Most Interesting Lager in the World” and 100% of proceeds will benefit the Eugene Burrito Brigade! ‘Burrito Brigade is a non-profit 501c(3) organization whose mission is to feed the hungry and unhoused in Oregon by hand-delivering vegan meals for free. There is enough food in Oregon to feed every hungry person, but there is a lack of access. We are committed to engaging the community in the fight to end hunger through a network of volunteers and partnerships with organizations. Burrito Brigade works with, accepts donations from, and provides for the public, regardless of housing status, ability, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, social status, addiction, criminal background, religious affiliation or age. It is our belief that food is a basic human right.'”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes locations, where $1 of every pint sold is donated to a selected non-profit organization. In Bend, at the Bend pub and the tasting room, the brewery is benefiting Tour des Chutes, “fundraising events that support Central Oregon children and adults with cancer.” In Portland unfortunately the pub is closed for remodeling until the 24th, but will be back next week. So in Bend, get over to Deschutes and help out with a pint or three today.

For Central Oregon Beer Week today, several events are going on:

  • Silver Moon Brewing has its Week of Barrel Aged Beers continuing, and tonight the brewery is also hosting Moon Landings: Board Game Night. “Silver Moon Brewing is hosting a board game night! Every Tuesday night from 6:00 PM-Close. We have lots of games for people to play and also encourage people to bring their own! Everything from UNO to tabletop! Don’t know how to play a game? We would be happy to show you or even play with you!”
  • Three Creeks Brewing is hosting its Spring Brewer’s Dinner today at 6pm, a four-course pairing menu for $55. Call 541-549-1963 for reservations.
  • GoodLife Brewing has Taco Tuesday and $2 canned beer today, according to the COBW guide.

Oregon City Brewing: The OC’s Pint Night for Charity this evening benefits The First Tee of Greater Portland: “Join us to support The First Tee of Greater Portland, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing golfing opportunities for youth and families. The First Tee’s outreach programs are dedicated to nurturing disadvantaged children ages 7 to 17, building values that strengthen their character, and guiding them in becoming responsible adults through the game of golf.” I believe it’s $1 per pint—go get some!

Redmond’s Wild Ride Brewing is releasing the latest of the Wild & Scenic Rivers 50th anniversary beers today, Wild & Scenic Saison, with a release party from 6 to 8pm: “Be among the first to try Wild and Scenic Saison at the Wild Ride Tap Room. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Discover Your Forest. Free admission and all ages are welcome. Wild and Scenic Saison (IBU: 10 | ABV 4.6%) is a modification of a classic Belgian style beer, but with a deeper amber color. Notes of dark cherry and biscuit help to make this beer approachable, while allowing the yeast character to blend the flavors together.”

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuringFruitopian Noyaux: “a blend of sour wheat, blond, strong blond and triple ales aged for two years in oak wine and bourbon barrels. The triple ales were aged with crushed noyaux and tangerine peel giving a creamy mouthfeel with marzipan flavor notes and a juicy citrus burst aroma. Lastly, a small portion of our red raspberry blend infused with fresh tangerine peel was added, creating a utopia of fruit flavors.”
