Oregon Beer, Belmont StationTGIF, and happy Mother’s Day weekend! Are you planning a beer for mom this Sunday? If not, you should be!

Here is the news in Oregon beer for this Friday and the rest of the weekend, and as usual I will periodically update this post throughout the day with current news as I find it. If you have any to share, please let me know!

Friday, 5/11

Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting a tasting with Colorado’s Great Divide Brewing from 5 to 8pm: “Our Colorado friends at Great Divide have soooo many great beers coming out right now that we thought it would be best to let everyone sample some to see what they like best! Taste among Heyday Modern IPA (a new year-round IPA), Roadie Grapefruit Radler (spring/summer seasonal), Wood Werks #2 (Flemish Sour Brown with Strawberries) and more!”

Cascade Lakes Brewing (Redmond): The brewery posted on Instagram that the Bend Lodge celebrates 14 years this Friday! “Today Cascade Lakes Lodge is celebrating 14 years!!! We love all of our Cascade Lakes family! A shout out to those who made it to the double digits! Cheers to many more amaznig years!” It would be a good time to stop by for a pint of Pineapple Kush IPA or one of the seasonals.

The Bier Stein (Eugene) is hosting Nectar Creek Mead for a Geography Bee event from 5 to 8pm: “Nectar Creek (OR) and Springdale (MA) have teamed up to brew a cross-continental, cross-pollinated, honey saison collaboration! Each brew is the exact same recipe, brewed in wine barrels on wild yeast, with one alternate factor – the honey. Springdale used cranberry blossom honey, while Nectar Creek used carrot blossom honey. How much of a difference can one ingredient make you ask? Come discover the answer for yourself on May 11th. We will also be serving a crostini flight with plain chevre and a drizzle of each honey so you can taste the difference in the raw honey, as well as in the beer! Swag and samples will be available from 5-8pm. Cheers!”

Baerlic Brewing (Portland) has a can release on Friday, featuring New Noise IPA: “Our year-round IPA is built for all weather drinking and exists as a modern take on a classic NW IPA. Tropical, stonefruit and citrus notes give us the motion to move the new beat. Brewed with Cascade, El Dorado, Amarillo and Chinook”

Kells Brewery (Portland) also has a Friday beer release, for Post Alley Pale Ale: “Another beer Release this Friday! Our brewers are churning out tons of fresh styles for the spring and summer, and next up is Post Alley Pale Ale a Citra forward west coast pale ale.”
