Belmont Station‘s 20th anniversary celebrations continue, and today they are hosting a Samuel Smith’s Salute along with a Tax Relief Party: “Samuel Smith’s was one of the imports that inspired the first generation of America’s artisan brewers, so it’s fitting that we celebrate all that this amazing brewery has brought us and taught us! In addition to a nice array of Sam Smith’s bottles for sale in the bottle shop, we will have select bottles available for on-site consumption all day long. Around 5 PM, Merchant du Vin’s chief storyteller Tom Bowers will be in the taproom to tell us more about Samuel Smith’s and lead us in the annual salute. We also will feature a Samuel Smith’s-inspired collaboration by local brewers 54°40’ and the upcoming Grains of Wrath brewing. A few folks from both breweries will be on-site, along with Alan Sprints from Hair of the Dog and John Harris from Ecliptic, all of whom will say a few words about how Sam Smith’s inspired them. We will also be pouring a Hair of the Dog beer especially chosen by Alan and the 19th Anniversary Ecliptic Belmont Station Barley Wine!” From 5 to 8pm.
Saraveza (Portland) has a Tax Day special tapping today: Moonlight Brewing’s Death and Taxes: “This Tuesday, we’ll serve up a special tax day tapping featuring one of NoCal’s definitive beers. Moonlight Brewing‘s “Death and Taxes” Schwartzbier was the original San Francisco black style lager and is in high demand throughout the bay. It’s one of those beers that only the bars on “the list” have the connections to tap and the people clamor for a taste. This year, we’re lucky enough to get a shipment of the rare black lager and make a special tax day tapping with it.”
Breakside Brewery (Portland) has the release party for their India Golden Ale taking place at Bridgetown Beerhouse today from 6 to 8pm: “The promise of spring returns with the release of Breakside’s India Golden Ale exclusively at Bridgetown Beerhouse. This “golden double IPA” is the lightest, hoppiest beer you’ll ever taste! India Golden Ale or “IGA” highlights the route that lots of new hop bombs are headed: light in body, lighter in color, and HUGE in citrus flavor and aroma. The Mosaic hops give this beer a bright mix of stonefruit and tropical flavors along with a big piney backbone; while the fruity Eldorado hops soften the finish. The malt bill is kept incredibly simple to allow the hops to take center stage in this elegant and refreshing beer. IN addition to IGA bottles for purchase to-go we will have our fan favorite seasonal IGA on tap alongside Rainbows & Unicorns session IPA. Come taste the gold in your glass, and stick around for the raffle items, games, giveaways and swag.”
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Their Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuring Tartini, a collaboration between Cascade Brewing and House Spirits Distillery: “This project features sour blond and wheat ales aged in oak wine barrels that have been infused botanicals from House Spirits’ Aviation Gin. Like a classic gin martini, Tartini showcases flavors of juniper, orange peel, coriander and lavender.”
Laurelwood Brewing (Portand): Today they are holding a fundraiser for Duniway Elementary School at their Southeast pub all day long: “Our family-friendly pubs are committed to helping our local schools and other educational programming, so we invite you to our SE Portland pub on April 18th to lend a hand… It’s simple, just order your favorite Laurelwood beer, snack, or meal and we’ll donate a percentage of your bill to Duniway Elementary School. This goes towards afterschool and recreational programming, educational field trips, classroom supplies, and more!”
Deschutes Brewery (Bend): It’s Community Pints days at the Bend and Portland pubs! $1 of every pint sold will go designate a given non-profit selected for the month. In Bend, Community Pint Night kicks off at 4:30 and benefits the Central Oregon Shriners Club. In Portland, they are benefiting Store to Door PDX, which “upports independent living for Portland area seniors and people with disabilities by providing an affordable, personal, volunteer-based grocery shopping and delivery service.” Be sure to stop by one of the pubs and help out with a pint or three today!

Classes will run for five months and focus on various ingredients and aspects of craft beer making.
