Belmont Station (Portland) is welcoming Sunriver Brewing today for the release of their cans plus their summer seasonal (SUP) tasting: “Sunriver releases its SUP (Stand Up Paddle) seasonal ale AND their new cans this night, and to help celebrate, they are hosting a tasting in the bottle shop. Sample the new cans: Fuzztail Hefeweizen and Rippin NW Ale plus SUP and Viscous Mosquito IPA (which are available in 22-ounce bottles). We also will be pouring two special Sunriver kegs in the taproom: Motorhead Black Barley Wine & Cinder Beast Imperial Red Ale.” It takes place from 5 to 7pm and you won’t want to miss out!
The Green Dragon (Portland) is hosting Sisters’ Three Creeks Brewing today for a special beer release event, Double Circuit Chocolate Stout: “If you love chocolate stout, then you’ll want to be at the Green Dragon Tuesday, April 12th for a special limited release of Double Circuit Chocolate Stout, crafted by Green Dragon Brew Crew member Dylan VanDetta. Double Circuit is a chocoholic’s dream. Four pounds of chocolate in the mash, 20 pounds in the boil. Lots of chocolate was harmed in the making of this beer. Dylan brewed it at Three Creeks Brewing in Sisters – his reward for winning a homebrew contest at the brewpub. Rumor has it there are only three kegs of Double Circuit Chocolate Stout in existence, and the only keg in Portland will be at the Green Dragon. Drop in and join us for a pint before it’s all gone!” It starts at 5:30pm.
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Today’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuring the punnily-named Raisin the Bar: “featuring a sour red ale aged in a Pinot Noir barrel for 15 month with dried dates, Mission figs and Bing cherries. This unique combination of ingredients creates flavors of raisins, port wine and hint of chocolate with a long, lingering finish.”
Pelican Brewing (Pacific City) is introducing its first-ever variety 12-pack of 12-ounce bottles, they announced this week. From the press release: “its first-ever mixed 12-pack of award-winning beverages: Kiwanda Cream Ale, Umbrella IPA, Imperial Pelican Ale and a rotating Pelican Seasonal Brew. The Pelican sample pack is in grocers’ craft beer aisle now. Variety packs are typically produced by larger brewing companies, but Pelican, with a fondness for leveraging emerging opportunities and leading in its size category, is the first-to-market with a sampling that promises to delight beer lovers and educate newcomers.” I believe the current seasonal is the new Dirty Bird IPA, keep an eye out in stores for it.
Breakside Brewery (Portland) has releases of their own to announce this week: India Golden Ale double IPA, Rainbows & Unicorns IPA (I had this in Portland this past weekend, it was a nice beer), and Pulp Free IPA, a collaboration with Fat Head’s Brewery and the southeast Portland Growler Guys. The New School has the press release here. And this Friday there is a release party for the beer at the Growler Guys.
