Oregon BeerHere is the news and events in beer from around Oregon for Tuesday, April 11. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.

Full Sail Brewing (Hood River) has a new canned beer coming out: Exit 63 Blonde Ale. From the release: “Inspired by that sense of place, Exit 63 is brewed with water from glacier-fed springs off the slopes of Mt. Hood, and Northwest-grown barley and hops from the fields of Yakima and Willamette valleys. Golden blonde in the glass and smooth on the palate, this ale evokes the brighter and warmer days of summer. Subtle notes of spice and a light body define this easy-drinking beer. Light and refreshing but never boring, this American blonde is like sunshine in a can whatever the weather. Exit 63 Blonde Ale is available year-round in aluminum, 12 oz. cans in 6-packs, 12-packs and on draft. 5% ABV, 16 IBUs.” The Full Sail brewery is off of freeway I-5 at exit 63.

Lompoc Brewing (Portland) has the latest release party for their Lömpocker Hoppy Kölsch taking place at their Hedge House today starting at 4pm: “Lömpocker, literally meaning “of or relating to Lompoc,” is a highly drinkable German style ale with a touch more hops than a traditional Kölsch. Bright golden in color, the beer features a delicate, soft maltiness, while Perle and Mandarina Bavaria hops give off a fruity aroma and a lingering hop bitterness (5% ABV). Stop by any of the gatherings to meet the brewers, taste the beer, and enter swag raffles!”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Bend and Portland pubs, where $1 of every pint sold is donated to a non-profit beneficiary. In Bend starting at 4:30pm, they are benefiting the Central Oregon Shriners, which helps support the Shriners Hospital for Children in Portland. The Portland Pub is benefiting Store to Door PDX, an organization that “supports independent living for Portland area seniors and people with disabilities by providing an affordable, personal, volunteer-based grocery shopping and delivery service.” Get out to the pubs and enjoy a pint or three today to help them out!

Cascade Brewing (Portland): They’ve got a bunch of stuff going on at the Barrel House today: “At Noon, we’re releasing Apricot 2016, in bottle & on draft, a blend of sour blond ales that were aged in oak wine barrels w/more than 13,000 pounds of fresh apricots; we’ll also have the 2014 & 2015 Apricot on tap for a three-year vertical. THEN at 6pm, Tap It Tuesday is Suimo Amaimo (translated as Sour and Sweet), a collaboration project made with Y.MARKET BREWING in Nagoya, Japan. Named by Y. Market brewer, Kachi-san, in reference to both the sour beer and sweet memories he experienced during his time at Cascade, this limited project features sour blond ales aged in oak wine barrels with fresh Northwest-grown pluots.” Today would be a good day to visit!
