Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting the can release party for Medford’s Southern Oregon Brewing tonight from 5 to 8pm, featuring can sampling and a tapping of SOB’s brews. “Medford’s Southern Oregon Brewing has produced quaffable beer since 2006. You may have been hearing about the proposal to make beer yeast the new “state microbe” for Oregon. It’s true: “Rep. Mark Johnson, R-Hood River, brought the idea to the Legislature as a way to celebrate the state’s microbrew movement. His district is home to some of the state’s most popular breweries. If Johnson’s House Concurrent Resolution 12 makes its way to Gov.
