Oregon Beer News, 04/02/2015

Oregon BeerHere is the news in Oregon beer for Thursday, the 2nd of April. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that posted as well.

McMenamins Old Church & Pub (Wilsonville) has their monthly special beer tasting today starting at 5pm, featuring Galaxy’s Edge IPA: “We’ve blasted our Hop Nova IPA with a heavy dose of Galaxy hops resulting in an IPA that is truly out of this world. A unique hop variety from Australia, Galaxy hops are known for their powerful aromas of tropical, citrus, and passion fruits. Add that to our already outstanding IPA and you’ve got a recipe for intergalactic awesomeness!”

Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting Bend’s Silver Moon Brewing today from 5 to 7pm for a tasting: “Fresh from Bend, Silver Moon Brewing will be on site pouring a variety of their bottled beers for you to taste. In the biercafé, we will be serving Highway 97 IPA on draft.”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend) is releasing their popular Pinedrops IPA in bottles starting today, and to celebrate they are holding all-day celebrations at the Bend Pub and Portland Pub. In addition to being able to purchase six-packs, there will be raffles, swag, meet the brewers, live music in Bend, and much more. Don’t miss out!

Worthy Brewing (Bend) is launching their new Worthy Garden Club with a launch party today from 5 to 7pm: “Kick off the growing season by sharing a beer with us at Worthy Brewing. We will have tons of information about WGC and early-season hop growing activities, and our garden specialist will be there to answer any questions. Bring home your very own hop rhizome harvested from the Worthy Hop Yard!” This is such a cool idea that will help advance hop growing in Central Oregon, among other things.

Redmond’s Wild Ride Brewing and Cascade Lakes Brewing teamed up recently to brew a collaboration ale, Redmond Rye’sing, and Wild Ride today has it going on tap: “We’re excited to finally tap our collaboration beer with Cascade Lakes Brewing Company! We’ll have Redmond Rye’sing, a Rye Red Ale, on special all day in the Tap Room! We’re proud to have brewed with a great long-time brewery of our community. Enjoy!”
