Oregon BeerHere is the news in beer from around Oregon for Thursday, the 10th of March. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that posted as well.

The Bier Stein (Eugene) today has a teaser flight of Oakshire Brewing‘s Hellshire barrel-aged beers in anticipation and preparation for this Saturday’s Hellshire Day: “We put our heads together with Oakshire to bring you this event. Two days prior to our local brewery’s big beer release extravaganza, we are going back in time. Come in starting at 5pm for a 4-beer flight of Hellshire III, IV, V, and Free Your Soul, a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout that was the inspiration for the upcoming Hellshire VI release on 3/12. To rinse your palate, Reclamation Lager will also be on tap.” It starts at 5pm, don’t miss out!

Portland’s Saraveza and N.W.I.P.A. are teaming up for a “NWIPA invasion” of Saraveza tonight from 6 to 9pm: “You want the best burger in town? You want some oysters on the half shell? You want some dank IPAs and some Abraxas, bud? Well, you’re in luck because N.W.I.P.A., FoPo’s favorite beer store, is invading the darling of NoPo, Saraveza! Why? Why not! We’ll have a very limited number of burgers to sell, some tasty raw oysters, and a beer list only the NWIPA crew could dream up! Burger sales and service start at 6pm. We won’t be pre-selling them so it’s first-come, first-serve. Even once they’re gone though, come up and hang with Jackson and Dan from NWIPA! They’ll be here working hard and drinking beers after! Plus we’ll have our usual onslaught of delicious food!”

McMenamins Edgefield (Troutdale): Their Meet Your Maker beer tasting today from 5 to 8pm is featuring Cask Conditioned Maple Terminator Stout: “This particular beer has been Cask Conditioned for extra authenticity, and will only be served for our Limited Edition Beer Release. Until the advent of modern refrigerated draught systems, Cask Conditioned Ales were the most common sight at your local pub. We mixed Whiskey Barrel Aged Maple Syrup with our classic Terminator Stout to produce an extremely limited ale with a subtle sweetness, a touch of spirit character, and a well rounded roastiness.” Cask conditioned! That would be yummy.

Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider (Portland) is inviting Eugene’s WildCraft Cider Works in for a meet the maker and tap invasion tonight: “Wildcraft Cider meet the maker and tap INVASION at the taproom, Portland, OR, 4-10pm Thursday, March 10. Sean from Wildcraft Cider in Eugene, OR will be on hand to talk about his unique approach to cidermaking. Kolin from NW Cider Brokers will be in the house as well. There will also be bottles of their barrel-aged Snake River Rye for sale and on-site consumption.”

The Green Dragon (Portland) is hosting Thane Tupper of Hood River’s PFriem Family Brewers for their meet the brewer event tonight starting at 5pm: “Fans of Belgium beers will have plenty to cheer about when Thane Tupper of pFriem Family Brewing comes to the Green Dragon for this week’s Meet The Brewer. Based in Hood River, Oregon, the pFriem family crafts complex brews in the Belgian tradition while staying true to their roots in the Pacific Northwest. Thane is bringing eight of their best for you to try. Full Sail Brewing (Hood River): Their March Brewmaster Dinner is taking place tonight from 5 to 9pm, presenting a four-course dinner with accompanying beer pairings. “Our Brewmaster Dinners are held the second Thursday of each month (except for December which is the third Thursday) from October to April at our Brew Pub in Hood River. Salem’s Vagabond Brewing and Corvallis’ Block 15 Brewery are teaming up for a tap takeover at Sparky’s Brewing in Salem today starting at 5pm: “We’re teaming up with one of our favorite breweries Block 15 Brewing Co. to takeover Sparky’s Brewing Company taps! Block 15 is one of the best breweries in Oregon and a brewery that helped inspire Vagabond, so it’s an honor to team up with them on this event! So come hang out with us, drink amazing beer, play games and win swag from both breweries!”

BridgePort Brewing (Portland): Their Stumptown Tart is back, and tonight from 5:30 to 8pm they are hosting the first tasting of it: Cherry Saison. “Join us at the BrewPub on March 10 from 5:30 – 8:00pm to have the first taste of BridgePort’s new beer, STUMPTOWN Tart Cherry Saison. Bottle model, Bernie Dexter will be on-site for pictures, signed posters and a kissing booth! All donations from the kissing booth will benefit Oregon Wild. Our beloved STUMPTOWN Tart is back but with a twist.
