Oregon BeerHere’s the news and events in beer from around Oregon for Thursday, March 9. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that posted as well.

The Bier Stein (Eugene) welcomes Bend’s Boneyard Beer for a tasting of 10 different beers tonight, from 5 to 9pm: “Boneyard has a reputation for a particular beer, but they actually make WAY more than RPM! At this event you’ll be able to taste 10 of Boneyard’s wares. The first folks to get a pint will go home with free glassware, and our rep will be raffling off other cool items! The list: Boneyard/3 Floyds Collab IPA, Boneyard/Barley Brown’s – Allocation IPA, The Femur Barleywine, Metabolic IPA, Hop-a-Wheelie IPA, Incredible Pulp Blood Orange Pale, Backbone Chocolate Espresso Stout, Armored Fist Imperial CDA (also a 3 Floyds Collab), 2015 Suge Knite, and RPM IPA.”

McMenamins Edgefield (Troutdale) is hosting their Meet the Makers beer tasting from 5 to 8pm, featuring Oaked Irish Stout: “Oaked Irish Stout is a special twist on our McMenamins Irish Stout. It’s been infused with oak and whiskey character by aging on Hogshead Whiskey soaked oak spirals. Enjoy this very rare treat. Sláinte!” A perfect pairing just in time for St. Patrick’s Day!

And McMenamins 23rd Avenue Bottle Shop in Portland is hosting a meet the brewer with the Fulton Pub’s Ryan Mott, and his beer Muddy Puddles Chocolate Porter from 6 to 8pm: “You wouldn’t guess it just by looking at him, but Ryan Mott has been professionally brewing with McMenamins for nearly 18 years. He’s brewed at least once at a dozen McMenamins breweries but now resides at the Fulton, famed for it’s colorful history relating both to the building and the resident brewers. If there’s something about brewing that you’ve always wanted to ask, he’s your guy. Stop by for some great beer and sort-of-decent conversation, as he’d put it.” And that porter is made with Crème de Cacao.
