Oregon Beer News, 03/07/2017

Oregon BeerHere is the Oregon beer news for Tuesday, March 7. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Their Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House tonight at 6pm is featuring Citrus Sunrise, in celebration of Tampa Bay Beer Week going on now in Florida: “A collaboration with 7venth Sun Brewing of Dunedin, Florida. Citrus Sunrise is a blend of sour blond and strong blond ales aged in oak wine and port barrels with orange peel. This blend features flavors of bright orange zest with the delicate aroma of orange blossoms.”

Redmond’s Wild Ride Brewing will be at Imperial Bottle Shop in Portland today for a meet the brewer event from 5 to 7pm: “Come meet the whole Wild Ride Brewing crew, including owner Brian, brewer Kasey McCullough, and sales reps Pat and Darrin. We’ll be pouring Stand Up and Shout Vanilla Coffee Stout and Hoptagious Imperial IPA on draft, and the Wild Ride team will be pouring free samples from bottles.”

Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pint days at the Deschutes pubs, where $1 from every pint sold goes to benefit a designated non-profit for the month. At the Bend Pub today, the pint night starts at 4:30pm and benefits Healthy Beginnings, “a local non-profit who’s goal is to provide accessible, educational, preventative screenings to ALL children.” (The Portland Pub hasn’t posted their beneficiary yet.) Be sure to stop by and have a pint of three!

Standing Stone Brewing (Ashland): Tonight is their Pints for a Purpose fundraiser starting at 5pm and benefiting the Modern Roots Foundation. From the Facebook event page: “It’s the final Pints for a Purpose of the 2016/2017 season! It’s been an amazing year of giving and we are so happy to end things off with a bang, supporting Modern Roots Foundation. Modern Roots Foundation works to “give kids a chance to play music, create sounds, and express themselves regardless of their economic status.” They provide kids with access to music lessons, instrument rentals and workshops. From 5-10pm, Standing Stone will donate $2 from every pint of beer and $1 from every root beer to Modern Roots Foundation. The MRF team will be on-site and sharing the good work they’re doing in our community.” Definitely stop by Standing Stone tonight if you’re in the area!

Corvallis’ Block 15 Brewery also has a “Dine Out for Hoover Elementary” fundraiser today at their downtown pub: “Please join us for a delicious, locally sourced meal at our downtown pub on Tuesday, March 7th – 10% of food sales will be donated to Hoover Elementary School.”

And then Block 15 will be at the Southeast Portland Growler Guys this evening for the Portland release of The Incredible, their “Imperial Double IPA”: “Join us March 7th for the Portland release of Block 15 Brewing Co. The Incredible! Draft pours and 4-packs will all be available along with a few other treats on-tap from our friends at Block 15.” The draft list for the evening is posted here; the release party runs from 6 to 8pm.

Wild Ride Brewing, in addition to hanging out at Imperial Bottle Shop tonight, has a new beer coming off the bottling line today: “Excited to release our Hidden Trail Blood Orange Pale Ale, available in draft and 22oz bottles! Check it out!”

Two Shy Brewing (Roseburg) has a new beer coming out this Thursday: “Be apart of Two Shy history when we release NOT SO PEACHE’! A wine bourbon aged peach sour made with over 100 pounds of fresh local peaches from James Orchard Abundant Harvest! Live tunes with the Blues Daddy’s @ 6, no cover! See you all there!”

Oregon City Brewing has their Tuesday Night Pints for Charity going on tonight: “Every time you buy a pint of OCB beer a $1 token goes in to the charity box to help support the Oregon City Parks Foundation!” Make sure to buy a pint or three tonight!
