Oregon BeerHere is the news in Oregon beer from around the web for the last weekend of February, Friday the 26th through Sunday the 28th. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often. And if you have news to share, please let me know and I can get that updated as well.

The Bier Stein‘s Starkbierzeit Festival of Strong Beer continues this weekend, with some amazing strong (and aged) beers going on tap. This Friday we’ll see the following: Alaskan – Smoked Porter 2013, De Molen – Barrel-aged Cease & Desist 2014, North Coast – Old Stock Cellar Reserve 2013, Russian River – Supplication 2011, and Stone – Espresso Imperial Russian Stout 2013. And on Saturday the 27th (the final day) there’s a four-year vertical of Firestone Walker’s Parabola Barrel-aged Imperial Stout (2012 – 2015)!

And Cascade Brewing‘s Sour Fruit Fest runs through Sunday, running through a nice rotation of limited and vintage sours. “Most of the beers will be available as 2oz tasters and will run $2 to $3.50. Some of the limited, vintage beers will be available as 4oz pours and priced at $5.50-$8.” Keep an eye on the event page for the list and their general status updates to find out when a beer is on (or blown, as Tropic of Cascadia was the first to blow yesterday).

The BeerMongers (Portland): Friday evening starting at 5pm they are featuring 10 Barrel Brewing for a meet the brewers event with brewers Shawn Kelso and Whitney Burnside: “We love good beer, and that’s what we’ll be pouring this Friday.
