Oregon BeerHere’s the news in beer from around Oregon for Tuesday, the 26th of January. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.

Belmont Station (Portland): Today from 5 to 7pm they are welcoming New York’s Sixpoint Brewing for a tasting: “Sixpoint will bring in their entire line up of great beers for us to taste. Additionally, we will have a few of their specialty beers on tap including Hi Res Triple IPA and Brownside Renovation, a brown ale aged on cherries in red wine barrels.”

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday at 6pm at the Barrel House is featuring I Love It When You Call Me Big Pawpaw: “spotlighting the pawpaw, a strange and little-known fruit native to North America. Our cellar staff hand-picked more than 30 lbs of locally grown pawpaws this summer and added it to a barrel of our sour Wheat ale to age for up to five months. The soft, custard-like fruit contributes light tropical notes of mango and banana that are rounded by a touch of oak. 6.7% ABV”

Oakshire Brewing (Eugene): Their Tuesday beer release (in their Single Batch series) pairs up with a pizza deal tonight: “Cask Stout conditioned with cinnamon sticks, cocoa nibs, and ancho chili peppers. A subtle cocoa bitterness rounds out the warm sting of the peppers. And for all of you OREGON WOOD FIRED PIZZA fans: A new Tuesday special for you! A 13′ pie and a pint of Oakshire for 13 BUCKS! It’s a scorching good deal and its waiting for you between 5-8:30 at the Public House.”

Vanguard Brewing (Wilsonville) has a new beer out: “Introducing LPR stout. A sweet, roasty, and extremely smooth, oatmeal imperial stout. 7.6% ABV. Now on tap.”

The Tap and Growler (Eugene) is hosting Firestone Walker Brewing today for a Milk & Cookies night: “Nitro Merlin Milk Stout paired with specialty Brown Butter Co. Cookies. Come join Keenan with Firestone Walker Brewing Co. for the pairing of their NEW Nitro Merlin Milk Stout with Brown Butter Cookie Company’s Delicious Cookies. Bring your favorite story book and maybe Keenan will read it to you… Maybe.” Starts at 6pm.

Great Notion Brewing (Portland) has a new beer out of their own: “We have a new beer on tap – meet Stamper Stout! In our tribute to Henry Stamper, the old and half-crazed patriarch whose motto was “Never Give an Inch!,” Stamper Stout will warm your belly after a long Oregon Winter day. Settle into rich notes of coffee, chocolate and a gentle roast. ABV: 7.7%, IBU: 45”

Oregon City Brewing (Oregon City): The New School reports that Oregon City is planning expansion: “The company has hired award-winning 13 Virtues head brewer David Vohden. OCB is weeks away from signing a lease agreement to have a stand-alone restaurant move in to half of the building and provide food to pub patrons and more. Seating will stay mostly the same, but there will be a revamp on the 2,000 square foot patio and hopefully an opening of the restaurant in early April.” Brewing capacity increase is also in the works, upgrading to a 7bbl system.
