Here’s the news in beer from around Oregon for Tuesday, the 24th of January. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
Chetco Brewing (Brookings) has a release party today from 4 to 9pm for their new Elmorado IPA: “Come try our brand new Elmorado IPA – a heartfelt tribute to a Brookings icon, the Academy award-winning film editor, Elmo Williams. It is a delicious blend of El Dorado, Mosaic and Chinook hops – fruity, tangy and rich. We’ll also have BBQ jackfruit sandwiches on hand -pulled pigless pork! You have to try ’em both!”
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuring Jamberree: “A sour wheat aged in an oak wine barrel with 100 pounds of blackcap raspberries for 12 months, then blended with bourbon barrel aged sour quad. Rich and decadent, Jamberree offers jammy flavors of black raspberries, huckleberries and marionberries that finish with a smooth, round mouthfeel and light oak presence (8.1%).”
McMenamins 23rd Avenue Bottle Shop (Portland) is on the Bell’s Brewery train today, with Hopslam and Two Hearted being highlighted from 6 to 8pm: “Bell’s Brewing is sending out some hoppy goodness from Kalamazoo and we will be putting it on tap the day it gets to the shop. So come on in for a pint or two of Hop Slam Double IPA and Two hearted IPA, and take some home while you can.”
Boardman’s Ordnance Brewing will be in Grants Pass tonight for a tap takeover at SpeakEasy Tap Room: “Ordnance Brewing is kicking off in Grants Pass with our new Friends at SpeakEasy Tap Room. Come down and meet Libation Engineer, Logan Mayfield and Area Field Rep, Steve Jones. Explore and enjoy some tasty Ordnance brews and learn about our brewery. Fun starts at 5pm, Cheers!”
Deschutes Brewery (Bend): It’s Community Pints Tuesday at the Bend and Portland public houses, where $1 of every pint sold benefits a non-profit. In Bend this month, the beneficiary is Discover Your Forest; in Portland, it’s Special Olympics Oregon Polar Plunge that receives the donations. Get down there and drink a pint or three in support!
