Oregon BeerHere’s the news in Oregon beer for Tuesday, January 14. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.

Cascade Lakes Brewing (Redmond): Their 20th anniversary celebration continues today at their Lodge in Bend: “Celebrating the world premier of our 20th anniversary IPA and 20 years of brewing in Central Oregon. Beers priced like it’s ’94 ($2.75 CLBC beers). Two lucky winners get free beer for a year! Free samples of our 20th anniversary IPA, free koozies while supplies last!! Live music at the lodge (KC Flynn) from 3-6pm.”

McMenamins Bagdad Pub (Portland) has a special beer release today kicking off at 5pm, featuring the Edgefield beer Northern Lights that premiered out in Troutdale last week: “This lively beer is a barrel aged sour black ale with squash added to celebrate the dark winter days. It pours a jet black with a fluffy white head. You will notice aromas of spice, pumpkin and roasted malt. Flavors of squash mingle with a subtle tartness from extended barrel aging. Gather around, pucker up and enjoy some Northern Lights.” It’s 5.86% abv and when it’s gone, it’s gone.

Oakshire Brewing (Eugene): Tonight they have a new Single Batch series beer going on tap at 6pm: Patriot Porter. “Patriot Porter is a rich, dark brown porter with aromas of rich molasses and dark brown sugar. Flavors of smoke, nuts, chocolate, and burnt sugar finish with a full body and balanced bitterness from the American hops and roasted malts. We think George and Thomas would approve!”

Stickmen Brewery & Skewery (Lake Oswego) has a new beer of their own going on tap today: “Just celebrated our first 12 months of brewing and today at 4:00 we will release our 46th different beer – Abbey IPA. Another of our propagation series beers, this Belgian IPA is the Hop Fridge base beer fermented with a Belgian Abbey yeast strain which gave it a more fruity and malty profile. Only a keg of this so get it while you can. 6.0% ABV | 68 IBU’s”

Golden Valley Brewery (Beaverton): The Beaverton location of the McMinnville-based GVB is celebrating their second anniversary next week: “GVB – Beaverton turns 2! Thursday January 23rd is our anniversary party as well as the release of our Atlas Elevator Doppelbock! We’ll have the kegs tapped and be handing out prizes and gifts, plus free apps and more!” Don’t miss the $2 beers!

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday event at 6pm at the Barrel House is featuring “Live” Cinnamon Chocolate Truffle: “a Cascade Brewery/Barrel House collaboration. Pre-Diesel was brewed at the brewery with chocolate and roasted malts, black strap molasses and dark Belgian candy sugar, aged on Black Mission figs, then blended with a soured cinnamon strong blond from the Barrel House. Sweet cinnamon and deep dark chocolate in the nose bring to mind truffle candies. Huge, rich chocolate ganache and sweet cinnamon coat the palate and lead to a finish of smooth chocolate with lingering hints of cinnamon. Decadent, because we can. 8% ABV, $8 glass, $3 taster”
