Juniper Brewing, Redmond, opening soon

Juniper Brewing logoIn addition to Wild Ride Brewing which I wrote about the other day, Redmond, Oregon has another new brewery opening up even sooner: Juniper Brewing Company, currently planning on opening by the end of this month. Located across the street from the Deschutes County Fairgrounds at 1950 SW Badger Avenue in Redmond, they are installing a two-barrel brewing system with a 600-square-foot tasting room.

The Source Weekly in their roundup of the new breweries included a blurb on Juniper:

Co-owners and brewers Curtis Endicott and Scott Lesmeister are on track to open their 600-square-foot tasting room located just west of the Deschutes County Fairgrounds by late January. Using a 2-barrel brewing operation, the partners will start production with 14 recipes and six standards: Jolly Black Ale (their flagship—a low-hop, malt forward beer); Milk Man (a Belgian white ale); Cream Ale, Pat-Kat Porter, Tap Root Red and Old Roy IPA (named after the ancient juniper tree out front, the same one featured in silhouette form in Juniper’s logo). Come February, look for Juniper to appear on tap at Redmond’s Cross Street Cafe and Bend’s Platypus Pub.

Here’s a picture of the building I yanked from Google Streetview:

With a late January opening they are on track to be the 25th brewery for Central Oregon (depending on when North Rim Brewing goes live). Hopefully that means they’re about ready to start brewing, in order to have beer ready to serve. I’m looking forward to trying it out!
