Pelican Brewing has teamed up with Visit Tillamook Coast to host their second annual Beer + Cheese beer pairing event to take place on Saturday, April 13, at Pelican’s Tillamook production brewery. From 11am to 3pm, you’ll be able to enjoy beers from a number of western Oregon breweries paired with specialty cheeses from select creameries. The lineup currently includes:

• Pelican Brewing Company paired with Tillamook Creamery
• Werner Brewing Company paired with Nestucca Bay Creamery
• Golden Valley Brewery paired with Helvetia Creamery
• Public Coast Brewing paired with Blue Heron French Cheese Co.
• Block 15 Brewing paired with OSU Creamery
• Heater Allen Brewing paired with Briar Rose Creamery
• Beachcrest Brewing paired with River House Dressings

Note the new Beachcrest Brewing on that list, and the brand new Werner Brewing as well (itself based out of Tillamook); this will likely be the first taste of either brewery for many attendees.

Cost is $15 per person, which gets you a taster glass, tote bag, and 10 taster tokens, with additional tokens available for $1 apiece. All proceeds go to Food Roots, “an amazing local organization supporting farmers and community access to local foods.” I don’t see an option to purchase tickets online, so I’m assuming you can pay at the door. And honestly, $15 is a good and reasonably inexpensive price for such an event.

There will be other food available as well, but you’ll definitely want to focus on the beer and cheese pairings.
