Give Me a Firkin Beer Fest – today at Immersion Brewing

Immersion Give Me a Firkin Beer Festival

I’m still catching up on news and events, but this is one I hadn’t really seen promoted anywhere outside of Facebook and only became aware of it recently: Immersion Brewing is hosting its first Give Me a Firkin Beer Festival today, featuring a lineup of Central Oregon breweries pouring firkin (cask-conditioned) beers from 2 to 10pm.

Here’s the event description:

Get ready for the best firkin festival you have ever been to! We asked local brewers to stretch their creative muscles for this one…and you won’t be disappointed. You even get to vote for the people’s choice award!
A firkin is a cask conditioned, small batch ale and if you have never experienced the tapping of one, you better get there early because you are in for a treat. Purchase tickets online, doors open at 2pm. Each brewery is bringing at least one firkin and extra tokens will be available for purchase.

One of the eye-opening brewery participants on the list is The Ale Apothecary—which normally only packages in bottles. Others listed include Atlas Cider, Crux Fermentation Project, Deschutes Brewery, Kobold Brewing, Ochoco Brewing, RiverBend Brewing, Silver Moon Brewing, Sunriver Brewing, Tumalo Cider Company, Wild Ride Brewing, and Worthy Brewing.

Unfortunately the online ticketing says sales are closed, so I don’t know if you can purchase as the door, but if so, details are: “$20 gets you in the door with a souvenier taster glass and 5 tokens. Extra tokens avaialble for purchase, and pours will range from 1-2 tokens each.”

Update: Tickets are indeed still available up to and including at the door.
