Deschutes’ party in the park

This past Saturday, Deschutes Brewery celebrated their 25 years of brewing beer with a big party in downtown Bend’s Drake Park. They did a great job too, with a big venue offering up live music all day long, food vendors, kids activities, and of course beer! There was even a “secret” 1/6-barrel keg of Black Butte XXV, this year’s anniversary Imperial Porter that they were pouring tastings from midway through the event.

Overall it was great and I had a great time. Incidentally, the XXV, while being described as a “tart” Imperial Porter, was delicious: nothing too sour about it at all, more along the lines of enhancing the chocolate character I would say. One to look forward to when it’s officially released at the Pub this Thursday.

Not much more to say, that a few pictures can’t do better.
