This upcoming Tuesday, the 11th, Deschutes Brewery here in Bend is holding the next in their quarterly Co-Op event series (“free cooperative events designed to educate the community on beer and food with a donation opportunity for local non-profit organizations”), and this one has me excited: Firkin-A: Traditional Ales.
Brewers from Worthy Brewing Company, McMenamins, 10 Barrel Brewing Company, Brewers Union Local 180, & Deschutes Brewery will feature cask beer and share tasters of their product while educating you on the process. Enjoy great times, conversations, & small English Bites paired with these traditional ales!
Cask ales! That in itself is exciting (something we don’t see in Central Oregon often enough, though both Deschutes and McMenamins have them regularly) but what has me especially happy is seeing that Oakridge’s Brewers Union Local 180 is going to be there as well—and as I understand it the king of cask ales, Brewer Ted Sobel, will be on hand as well! If you have any questions about traditional/cask/Real ales, now would be a good chance to ask them.
The event is taking place from 5:30 to 7:30pm in the Tap Room (upstairs of the Public House in downtown Bend).
