For today’s Tuesday Tastings reviews I’m drawing from the Boneyard well—Bend, Oregon’s Boneyard Beer that is. Back in November I’d written a print article on their then-new year-round beer, Incredible Pulp Blood Orange Pale Ale, and while I included some tasting notes in the article, I thought it would be interesting to … Continue reading
Consider the weather we’ve been hit with in Oregon these past couple of weeks—here in Bend, schools have been closed more in 2017 than they were in the past 20 years—what could be a more appropriate beer for this week than Bend Brewing Company‘s Sno’d In Winter Ale? Bend Brewing … Continue reading
For this new year I wrote about local barrel-aged beers that have come out in the past several weeks (since about mid-December): the perfect type of beer to drink to welcome in the New Year! Worthy, Silver Moon, and Deschutes beers are all featured. Go check it out.

My latest article for the Bulletin is out today: Incredible Pulp Blood Orange Extra Pale Ale is no fiction. I got a chance to deep-dive into Boneyard Beer‘s latest year-round offering, Incredible Pulp. It’s a good beer and I suspect it’s going to be a big hit—well technically it’s already a … Continue reading
Each year Bend’s Silver Moon Brewing releases their holiday seasonal, Elf Brew, and each year changes up the recipe. When it was first released it was a lavender-infused winter ale; last year was a Scottish-style ale. This year’s version is a Doppelsticke Altbier, weighing in at 8.8% alcohol by volume and … Continue reading
