Bend Brewing Company releasing Outback X in bottles

Bend Brewing Company‘s slow bottle rollout continues Friday, May 6th, with the first-ever bottled release of their award-winning Outback X. They’re debuting the bottles during First Friday in Bend, where they’re participating with the artist who designed the art for the label:

First Friday Artwalk-May 6th! Our Artist in Residence program features Mike Putnam’s work to be displayed upstairs in the brewery. Check out www.mikeputnamphoto.com. His amazing Ponderosa photo was chosen for our Outback X label. Friday marks the official bottle release party for the award-winning Outback X! We have a limited number of bottles, so don’t miss this opportunity to have them signed by both Mike Putnam and Tonya Cornett!

Outback X is essentially an “Imperial” version of BBC’s Outback Old Ale, and was first brewed to commemorate their 10th anniversary (back in 2005). It’s since won a bunch of awards, and joins four other beers (at my count) in BBC’s bottled line-up: HopHead Imperial IPA, Elk Lake IPA, Lovely Cherry Baltic Porter, and Doppelbock (which will also be available in bottles on Friday).

In addition to bottles of Outback X, Bend Brewing will also be featuring chocolate truffles made with the beer as part of the First Friday offerings.

I don’t yet know what the price per bottle will be, but the Lovely was sold for $10 per bottle so I expect this will probably be the same.
