Advent Beer Calendar 2019: Day 13: 3 Nations Texas Xmas

3 Nations Texas Xmas (from Facebook)

December 13 is National Cocoa Day, as in hot chocolate, a terrific winter holiday celebration. (Ignoring that it’s Friday the 13th—that’s a different holiday!) As befitting the day, I wanted to pick a hot chocolate-themed beer and I think Texas Xmas from 3 Nations Brewing fits that bill nicely.

Texas Xmas is a Mexican chocolate imperial milk stout, and as the Mayans are credited with inventing hot cocoa, this is a great homage to that ancient beverage as well as being a terrific Christmastime beer. The description on Untappd reads:

Deliciously rich winter Milk stout with powerful notes of roast, bitter dark chocolate and a hint of heat in the finish. Christmas in a glass, Texas style.

The beer is 8.3% alcohol by volume and 25 IBUs, and is one to look for to enjoy on this National Cocoa Day.
