Crossing the Rubicon

My visit to Sacramento area stalwart, Rubicon Brewing, was under a dark cloud as we’d attended a memorial earlier in the day. Cruxapalooza – Crux’s 1st anniversary

Hard to believe it’s been a year already that Crux Fermentation Project has opened its doors here in Bend, but it really has and in that time they’ve risen to be one of the best (if not the best) new brewpubs in Central Oregon with an amazing lineup of beers, good food, and great views from their one-of-a-kind facility. Deschutes’ party in the park

This past Saturday, Deschutes Brewery celebrated their 25 years of brewing beer with a big party in downtown Bend’s Drake Park. They did a great job too, with a big venue offering up live music all day long, food vendors, kids activities, and of course beer! There was even a “secret” 1/6-barrel keg of Black Butte XXV, this year’s anniversary Imperial Porter that they were pouring tastings from midway through the event.
