I live in Portland and bought many kegs of W’07 from the brewery that summer. We were all brokenhearted when it was no longer available. This is by far the best pale we’ve ever tasted. I’ll find out if the’ve tweaked the recipe – I’m picking up a keg this afternoon!

Well, according to RateBeer, it’s Widmer’s W’07 Pale Ale, which they brewed back in 2007. If that’s true, then yeah, it’s repackaged. Though I think I read something about the recipe being tweaked…

Hey Jon,
Was Drifter a seasonal Widmer repackaged? I only ask because one of the bartenders at Widmer Brewing said something to that effect about a month ago, but I can’t remember what seasonal he said it originally was.

Great review Jon. I have not tried the Drifter pale ale, but plan to do so soon. I will let you know what I think.
